EagleEyedAlbert ...too far north of the water. 22 Apr 15 10.51am | |

It seems somewhat ironic that its taken me so long to post a tribute because I couldn't find the thread... (The pinned ones always escape me). This is an example of the web based conundrums that staffie would very kindly help me out with. Links, hardware AND software queries- none too hard for who can only be described as the most gentlemanly genius to have ever graced the HOL. Such a shame, like many others on here, that I never got to meet him & buy him several well deserved drinks. Maybe another time, staff, rest in peace pal.
-Can often be found on HOL Radio chatting Palace-related nonsense: Catch it here, Sunday Nights 8pm: [Link] HOL Radio Twitter: [Link] Me on the Twitter: [Link]

staffie's legacy is the football games online thread. I am sure he would want Palace ex-pats and disabled supporters to still be able to watch streamed games in his absence.... he was that kind of guy. I've posted a suggestion on the thread in Football Talk. Any techies/Computer Geeks are welcome to help me try and preserve staffie's good work by trying to continue the service that the great man gave us every week. RIP Lord staffie of Holmesdale

All There will be a brief tribute in the matchday programme. It is limited by size but I will post the one we submitted a bit later which conveys more of our feelings.
Supporting Crystal Palace since 19.45 on 29th August 1972 (approximately)! |

Glad to hear that Palacetinian. I was considering setting up a Just Giving page for the PDSA in staffie's honour as well. What does anyone think? And does anyone know how we do that? It seems fairly straight forward but does anyone knows if you need to set up a bank account for it and then transfer from that to PDSA (their charity is one on the list) or if Just Giving does that automatically? Only just seen this but even though I didn't know the man, his links to highlights meant I could avoid MOTD and just see the Palace, and for away games a link was always there. Won't be the same without him - RIP Staffie
You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue |
