Conspiracy theories aside. There is a lot of evidence to suggest this started in a wet market in Wuhan. The next pandemic, if there ever is one, is likely to start in a wet market or a factory farm. Both places are breeding grounds for disease and sickness in animals which can be transmitted to humans.

I would say it's far from a "crazy" conspiracy theory. I would say it's a highly plausible possible scenario? Politics is about action and reaction. If the media are going to pursue a loony self serving crusade against one man and ignore the things that the vast majority are interested in then you might expect some sort of countermeasure from the government. Even some on the left would agree that the persistent attack on Cummings when we have far more pressing concerns is laughably disproportionate and not in the public interest.

Have to change your clothes on entry etc.

I have noticed especially over here even prior to this pandemic the amount of Hospital staff of all ranks who travel to work in their scrubs?

Then expect to be patronised. I'm as sick as many others of your invalid assertions that merely deflect arguments, and in effect, turn them into passive aggressive contests of rhetoric. You weren't referring to anything, simply trying to belittle people with your superior intellect. You have berated others for traits you, in fact, display more than they do. The countless times you have been beaten in arguments has been comedy gold, yet you have failed to notice. You are like the John Cleese 'pay for an argument' guy in Monty Python: merely a contrarian. As for the assertions, I assert the virus comes from China, so do many others. It is not because of Trump, or anyone else, it is because it is the obvious cause that they even admitted themselves. And now covered up. You have now been fooled by them twice, shame on you. If you think my assertion is invalid, let's hear why that is. That you assert the virus comes from China is just that. An assertion. That others make it as well doesn't make it any more valid. Indeed because Trump is politicising it makes it even less likely to be true. So my assertion is that it's a baseless claim. If you want to counter that, present your evidence. Which is not that others say so too. Show me where they have "admitted" causing it! Show me what they have "covered up"! There are questions to be asked, that's true. But the answers are not yet available and won't be until properly investigated. So provide the evidence for your assertion or my assertion that its baseless stands. If you believe this kind of thing, which is resonant of the kind of garbage coming from Alex Jones at InfoWars, then the fool is you.

This idea that some seem to want to believe that this situation is all an attempt by the media to get rid of Cummings is really bizarre. It isn't. It could have been any number of the leading government advisers or a minister. It's what he did, Johnson's determination to whitewash it and reinterpret the rules for him, and the scientific advice of what the probable public response to this would be. Cummings was merely the vehicle for the storm. That the vehicle decided to blow his trumpet in the way it did is not the fault of the media. That vehicle should have been taken off the road and declared unroadworthy until it had been overhauled. This was a car crash of a response by the government and was never the fault of the media. It will have damaged their reputation immeasurably and as a consequence our ability to deal with this crisis. It will not be forgotten or forgiven.
