What’s it got to do with Russia? If the great western powers start basing their morals and actions on what a Russia do. Then we’re f***ed as a species.

When Russia charges the opposition with crimes it's different.

They are exactly what you say they aren't.

As for Trump or the GOP winning....I would agree that Trump isn't my choice but the Democrats have seemingly acted in a fashion to ensure that he's going to be the candidate. Anyway the fact that you seem to think he could be doing worse than Biden just blows my mind.

But whatever....what will be will be.

What does Putin do to his opposition? What is the US government doing to it's opposition? You say they are not autocratic or vengeful.

I’m talking about Trump doing it to people in the same room as him that don’t agree with him. The man is crazy and shouldn’t be anywhere near the levers of power.

Lets look at when he did have the levers of power. What did he do that was 'crazy'?

You don’t have to look too hard!

Denying an election result and attempting to retain power illegally thus ignoring the rule of law and democracy seems pretty crazy to me.

And that was only ain’t the final month. There were almost 4 years worth prior to that.

Putin has them killed.

The US government stands off and allows due process to deal with anyone who breaks the law and will surely respect the democratic will of the people when it is expressed.

Putin is a despotic lunatic. And what ate the US government doing at the moment that is anything like being autocratic? Not really sure what you’re getting at. Their opponent has got himself in sh2t after a lifetime of illegal activity. You only have to listen to the tales of the people who have been burnt by doing business with him in NYC over the years to know how much if a villain he is. That’s absolutely nothing to do with the government. Not sure why some keep getting confused over this.

There are legal opposition parties in Russia.
Yes, Putin has had political opponents killed...and some are in jail...which is what the Democrats in the US are currently trying to do. It's been said many times, Russia is not our friend. Whether or not we agree with what it does is neither here or there.....but frankly this is little different to most countries outside of the west.

Yes, Russia's leadership is an autocracy and is significantly corrupt.

However, Zelensky and Ukraine itself is the same and little different to Russia.

However, the west props up one and demonises the other purely out of self interest rather than a care for the truth.....Just as it did with Stalin.

You will hear condemnation for one and excuses for the other.

Just as in the middle east we have no business in this war. The only outcome is damage with the risks of disaster.

There is zero upside and all the advocates for this war have only increased our economic hardships.

Nothing else.

It will end in a negotiation, probably one in Russia's favour and it's really quite outrageous that it's those who continually make poor choices leading our societies.

I'll be fascinated to see how they spin this one, as the 'reds are coming over the hill' only takes a minute to dismantle....then again if no one is allowed to answer against that in the media that's all you hear.

American economist, academic, public policy analyst Jeffrey Sachs on the US administration and US foreign policy since the Berlin war fell.

He's also Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

Essentially he agrees with the 'low quality elites' narrative in the west and specifically the US. He's significantly worried about the people making the decisions.

Yes, the US government has never had people killed. God forbid.

Trump is where the cool kids are at....ok they aren't young....but conservatism is growing back in the US culture. Only radicals want a lot of what the Democrats are offering.
