Must be next to impossible for Ukraine to operate some of the various equipment. With all different calibres and spares - it would be a hard task. I can't imagine it easy to try and run Le Clercs, Abrams, Challengers, Leopards and whatever else, for example. There is a lot that will come out after the war about just how fully engaged politicians have put us into this war. It certainly wasn't in my name.....I can't begin to say how incredibly stupid this has been. But since covid, neo/social liberalism does little else but harm our future. That maxim that war should be the last resort wasn't followed here. We could have put this fire out early and negotiated a deal far far better than Ukrainian will get now. But all we did was escalate. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Jul 2024 7.25pm)

I see the hungarian president is getting a lot of flak from the EU war mongers over instigating peace talks with Russia.

Be fascinating to know how the situation had played out if the West had ignored Russia's invasion and not assisted Ukraine. I suppose peace loving Putin would have installed a puppet and Ukraine would be back under the Soviet oops Russian thumb. All would have been well. Until of course the next democratic former Soviet satellite need "correction". The war mongers of the West have much to answer for.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

There's never been a threat of an invasion, what we are now at threat from is missile attack and/or terrorism....more expensive energy and food over time. Because apparently who owns the Donbas is really important to us and is our business... Edited by Stirlingsays (13 Jul 2024 11.49am)

This charge you frequently hear by those who defend the massive loss of life and financial burden of continuing to support this war rather than negotiating it is that....we must fight Russia or Russia is going to continue westwards. You know it's notable that those that complain about the speculation of others are amongst the most speculative out there. Regardless I've answered this point before but it never matters because the people who make these points are impervious to anything said to them...because they aren't about practical reality it's just about ego and narcissism. It costs them little because it is very unlikely to be them in a trench....the old send off the young to die and personally I think it should only be done when there is no other choice....anyone who reads this thread and the arguments contained within can see the powerful arguments against this war....it's only the mainstream media who largely....as they did with Covid....keep these arguments away from the mainstream media. That's why there isn't an anti war movement in this country like there was with the Gulf Wars, the mainstream media is now a largely controlled socially liberal machine that agrees far more with whatever the governmental consensus is. They censor and gatekeep alternative opinions away from the public. Exactly how Russia and Ukraine run their own mainstream media. Anyway I want to address...once again...this charge that unless we fight Putin and weaken his military he's coming over the hill to us or others. All you need is simple logic to bat these arguments away. The first point is that the Russian military in 2022 was far smaller than it is now. So if Putin was intending to invade multiple countries why is that the case? You never get an answer to this because the answer is obvious. The red line of Ukraine was always what Putin said and it's what he did...This course of action to subvert a Russian border country was a Nato/US state department policy that doesn't make sense unless you come to the conclusion that the policy was to surround and weaken Russia with anti Russia instead of neutral states (something the US would never accept itself)....Russia was warning about this war back in 2008 and did nothing until the overthrow of the democrat government in a CIA funded coup in 2014. It's been the decision to escalate the war and the sanctions that occurred that made Putin decide to completely change the course of the Russia economy away from Europe and go to a war economy of around 40 percent of GDP. What is the evidence that Putin intends to invade other countries? None. None, only the fear mongering of politicians. However, the fact that these countries have been aggressively supplying weapons against Russia certainly makes them enemies now. Secondly the BRICs alliance will not want WW3 with Nato, which I presume would be required if Putin was to extend beyond Ukraine into Nato countries. The war effects them just as much as it effects everyone else. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Jul 2024 12.07pm)

Essentially very little reporting on what's going on in the Ukraine war in terms of the battlefield. There's a good reason for that and it's because Ukraine are continuing to lose ground, which has been the case for all year. Instead of embracing reality however the EU and our own clown continue this fantasy world where Ukraine come out of this ok. What they are presenting to us is like a parallel universe, with a lot of justification for the sh1t sandwich they offer up for the future. They seem not to want to grapple with the reality that Trump isn't going to sing to their same hymn sheet and act as though Ukraine are a positive. Instead Ukraine represent a huge....and I mean huge cost of money for Europe. There is zero gain and only cost and it's all down to fools who have no one to answer to. They fool a lot of people. If you go back into this thread you can read all the bad predictions and opinions that were largely the result of normies believing what the man on the telly was telling them. It's only in relatively recent times they have gone quiet on the topic as reality sets in....and the man on the telly who spoke about Russia's economy collapsing or them running out of ammo and losing just acts as if they never said it. One thing you learn in life is no one who disagreed with you thanks you for being right. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Jul 2024 11.15pm)

Ukraine have recently tried extorting more from Slovakia & Hungary by blocking the oil pipeline that runs from Russia to the two countries. Given Slovakia has handed over its entirety of its air missile defence, a considerable amount of fighter jets, training aircraft, weapons, equipment and cash to Ukraine as well as house hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian nationals & allow them to live here tax free, Zelensky is taking the piss. Probably a good idea to keep the nations to the west of you onside...
