JC got put to bed by boris today. Corbyn is doing the job that his successor doesn't do. Questionable Covid contracts, dodgy appointments, toothless watchdogs. Favours to friends is how Johnson works, he won't be bothered that the High Court has pulled him up. It is becoming a third rate banana republic, millions just disappear into the coffers of his mates without any accountability. Starmer should be replaced by a non-establishment senior labour figure who understands what an opposition must do, opppose.

Its lucky he wasnt incharge when this started. They would still be asking our opinion on the mask type while hitting about a million dead. JC is a loser who will never run this country. And thank the lord for that. He was one whom shouted how slow HMG were to get ppe and never once requested where it came from or how much it cost. Millions into his mates coffers as you say, is a snip compared to how much joe public has stolen during this. Certainly made hay while they can. I await your comments when they go before the beak in a few years. Edited by cryrst (22 Feb 2021 11.55pm)

Corbyn can't convince his own brother to comply with lockdown, let alone the country. But let's run the scenario through from the bizarre GE pledge to renegotiate the transition deal then hold a referendum on in. By January this year he'd potentially just be finishing off negotiating the new transition deal thought the hight of the pandemic. Leave and remain would be tearing each other appart over the issue and gearing up for yet another refendum. We'd be tied into the EU's pathetic procurement strategy for vaccines. It's likely he'd be fighting with private schools and private companies over an attempted asset snatch. Dianne Abbot would be home secretary, covid stats would be as useless as a game of numberwang. Stamer knows the EU procurement rules, the great repeal act has maintained them for the time being. Direct award contracts are never good value for the consumer and basically a license to print money if you can act fast. They gave doctors PPE during the middle of a global shortage. Next you'll be complaining that we didn't get a good enough deal on the vaccine. Getting the country up and running again is worth far more to everyone than overspending by a few million quid here and there on critical activities that need to be done ASAP. Labour won't win the middle ground on this. Stamer is right not to go in overboard on this issue. 3 labour leaders have one a GE since the war. All 3 were educated at Cambridge and 2 were barriesters. Going with the establishment is the only way they will be trusted to get rid of the tories.

He wouldn't of done any of this silly mask stuff to begin with because their is not evidence these face coverings do anything (proper ffp2/3 are designed for a reason if any old bit of cloth worked they wouldn't have these standards) Never would be million dead if that was a risk the US would of hit that a long time ago. People need to stop listening to all the misleading stats etc and look at the real data [Link] look at it this whole thing has been a lie (yes the virus is real the threat not so much) They all are the same this is something simple people don't appear to understand it doesn't matter which party you vote for (every one of these are puppets to bigger players they take these jobs because of the connections etc they get from them) It's local level which is most important.

This is about corbyn and his karma back moment, not your personal take on a worldwide pandemic which will affect millions for a very long time beside the millions it will and has killed. Btw masks are still very optional when you are not around others who may have a different opinion than you and your wife.

Starmer should be replaced by a non-establishment senior labour figure who understands what an opposition must do, opppose. I am no fan of Starmer and genuinely believe that he deliberately pushed Labour into an electoral position on a second referendum that he knew would lead to a Corybn defeat, by way of allowing himself to take over. But over the Coronavirus crisis, the usual role of just opposing for the sake of it (which has a valuable constitutional role within our adversarial system) becomes a trickier game to play. People see a genuine national emergency playing out. Labour does have a wider credibility issue in terms of peoples perception of it as being able to get things done and the argument, especially now, could always be levelled at it, and specifically Starmer, is that if it/he had his way, we would be stuck with the EU's pathetic efforts. In a way, Starmer has to actually just take a step back at the moment. Very few upsides as matters stand to sniping away as per usual. A long way to go before the next election and once we are back into a relatively normal political cycle in say a year or so time, then it would be worth going on the attack. At the moment people are just grateful that HMG have got this vaccine situation right and that we now have a credible way out of the lockdown then showing a wider leadership by backing that makes more sense than attacking.

Corbyn was the right figure to reset the country Attlee style, Starmer is an establishment figure. His leadership is a joke really digging himself into a totally ridiculous position of supporting Johnson's EU deal. What opposition leader would do that. Now he has no position, he makes his Attlee-esc speech without any reference to Europe and brexit or of course the NHS. So the opposition now wriggle uncomfortably aa British workers are laid off and their jobs exported to the EU, didn't they support it? They have even been told not to talk about it on the radio, I mean really it is that ridiculous. Still don't talk about the war Sir Keir. 'I did, but I think I got away with it' - Basil Fawlty.

Whoever is the Labour leader, they have nothing to offer that the majority of the British people would find appealing.
