The videos I saw of the riots in London didn’t look very peaceful at all and those involved pretty similar to those in Southport. I don’t think there are many who have any sympathy whatsoever for this kind of behaviour. Which is frequently very far from innocent protest .You are imagining it because you only hear echos. All those I speak to condemn it out of hand. There is only a tiny section of society that is far right. Thankfully. Do the children who were murdered come up in conversation at all?

Depends what you mean by terror, but of the kind seen on Monday, probably none, directly. Indirectly, who knows? That though is no excuse for behaving as they do. Terrorist atrocities are bad enough without boneheaded idiots making things worse. Worse than three children being murdered.

There is a magic wand though, it's called an AH-64E Apache Guardian. Why don’t we just bomb the camps in Calais. Or build a wall in the middle of the English Channel. That would have the double benefit of stopping the French stealing our fish too.

Do the children who were murdered come up in conversation at all? Of course. It’s almost always the start of every conversation. Expressions of horror, puzzlement and sympathy. Then disgust at the way these idiots have responded.

It’s just funny that you hadn’t mentioned it at all, you seem more concerned with a rabble. What’s the puzzlement about? And what is the disgust about?

Worse than three children being murdered. Nothing could be worse than that! It’s not though a horror competition. It’s whether the response was appropriate, or welcomed by the victim's families and the local community. If it did no good, and it did not, then it should not have happened.

The puzzlement is what could possibly have motivated such evil. The disgust is for those who think that attacking a mosque, wrecking and looting a local store and injuring large numbers of policemen in Southport, immediately after the community had gathered to try to express their grief and solidarity, is any way appropriate.

What's happened to the famous context? What are community relations like there? Are there any long standing tensions? Have there been other incidents?

So nobody even came up with the slightest suggestion as to how this beyond tragedy might have come about? It’s a sickening and beyond acceptable circumstance and nobody could muster the slightest suggestion as to why?

And it wouldn't have happened if those murders hadn't taken place. Many things wouldn’t. This thread would not have started. The town of Southport wouldn’t be suffering from collective shock. They did though take place. To use that as any kind of justification for criminal activity is to use an excuse. It’s not a reason.
