Hodgson acknowledged in that Gary Neville programme that he is first and foremost a coach and he is not averse to working with what's available as he did to the club's satisfaction during his four years with us first time round. That's not to say he doesn't want new players (he was at the forefront with Dougie in persuading Parish to go for Eze).

Like I have said before these managers who have a good footballing knowledge meet SP and go away shaking their heads. They aint stupid and soon realise he is a businessman who knows nothing about football. They dont want to work for a chairman like that and on top of that the Yanks we have on the board arent football people either. With not much money to spend it isnt really an inviting job.
