I think they're struggling to get rid of him. He was on the balcony next to Stokes the whole of the last test. I'd bet he's at this one. I suspect he might find retirement difficult.

Hasn't he been taken on, pro tem, in a coaching/advisory role?

I presume he's doing something or he'll just show up at every game, gear in hand and stand around the stairs looking forlorn.

Handing out nips of Benedictine to all and sundry. There might be something else available but that's all I know about Burnley.

I have a friend from Burnley - something tells me he prefers it here. It's all bushing with Buckfast here. I'd say you'd be well used to seeing that.

I paused the cricket and mowed the lawn. I've only just seen Crawley and Duckett go.

Zak Crawley has considerable talent but I don't think it's worked and it seems as if the English selectors don't seem to accept that.

44 tests for a return of a 32 average just isn't good enough for an England opener. This West Indies attack isn't in the top five in the world and he's not cutting it.

I haven't been keeping tabs on the county game but it's a sad state of affairs if we don't have better. Someone is probably being held back out there.

I would defend him as he got over a poor start, however, he's been poor enough this series.

I think the memory of Trescothick has led to him being given so much bedding in time, and there's no doubt to his talent.

However, his shot selection and ability to keep good balls out just aren't or haven't been as good. Added to the fact that Trescothick batted against an era with more higher quality bowlers I think after forty odd tests that feedback is in.....to be honest it shouldn't take more than five to ten.

The opening pair will maybe need looking at after this series. From memory there are already three or four batsmen who like to bat up top for their counties in the squad.
Cricket is maybe the only sport where many were better in the past than now. A lot of that is The West Indies losing out players to American sports and, of course, the prevalence of the short games. Crawley being a prime example of a batsman more suited to one day cricket.
