Anyone want to tell me why Cummings left the Press waiting in the heat for exactly half an hour after his conference was supposed to start? And then made sure the Q&As went on, and on, and on....

Put this post in the context of the grooming gang report and a lot of people would agree with it.
We have a crisis, for which the government's handling has so far commanded, largely, overwhelming support, including from the opposition parties. That consensus has now been broken. The government are acting against its own rules. They are acting stupidly and against the public interest. Not just in my opinion either. It's widely believed. Except in dark corners like this where a particular group confirm each other's biases.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Any comment wissie or maple and wissie this isnt a big deal for anyone but a remoaner lefty like you.have you convinced any one you know about having a rally when the lockdown is over. You know, it is soooooo serious and all, that some one working for BJ did nothing wrong
I didn't watch Newsnight last night but have read the report. The BBC has, as is usual, been forthright in their examination of their editorial standards and offered an apology if they see any transgressions. So well done to them. No-one is perfect. Contrast that with the government's performance over the Cummings situation. No apology for what he did. Just an attempt to re-interpret the rules on his behalf and express regret that the media have upset people. Having read what was actually broadcast I have to say I agree 100% with the analysis and so, it seems, do the BBC. Their criticism is about the way the piece was introduced and not what was said. You are once again totally and utterly missing the point of why this is so important. It has zilch to do with Cummings himself and all to do with our ability to fight the virus. Until you understand that there is little point in discussing this with you or anyone else trying to defend Cummings. He isn't the point.

So take your own advice and vote against them at the next election but in the meantime accept the fact that they are acting in our best interest.

How is anybody supposed to know that? Maybe the same reason Lisa Nandy left her interview with the BBC when asked about Emily Thornberry’s comments.

He is still pissed off that they killed Diana, so gave them just desserts? Maybe the way they portrayed the Liverpool fans at Hillsborough? Or any of the urban myths that they start? Or do you believe that they are pillars of the community?
Systematically dragged down by the lawmakers |

He does everything for a purpose. To get his own way. I really don’t think he cares about old people, do you?

No more than greedy bankers, dodgy plumbers, nasty second hand car salesmen, do gooders, ne’er do wells, the old bill, match stewards, telephone sanitisers and all those other groups so loathed by people with pronounced veins on their foreheads
