Went to watch Chelsea yesterday. Wilf would set them on fire. They would be a perfect match I think Chelsea might be thinking of spending their money on a new back 4, they look rubbish. I think they dropped a bollock letting Cahill come to us... Zaha to Chelsea is not a done deal...

I 100% agree with the rest you have posted it's odd that we are a London club which has been in top league for many years now and not really seeing any interest in purchasing the club got to be something going on maybe SP being greedy or not willing to give up control. Regarding Wilf I don't see him going in Jan which is a shame the sooner he is gone the better for the club. What a bizarre statement.

What a bizarre statement. When someone sets their stall out it is quite difficult to address it, opinions are there to also address every corner of debate and we need grumpymort to cover this area. He does this extremely well and should be commended.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha Gets a New Agent' by Midlands Eagle ZAHA CHOSE ZAHAVI FOR 'MAJOR HONOURS' Wilfried Zaha’s desire to win major honours during his career prompted his decision to hire super-agent Pini Zahavi. The agreement to team up with the renowned Israeli negotiator and part with his long-time agent Will Salthouse, was concluded in the last 72 hours – and is seen as a clear indication that the Ivory Coast international still wants away from Selhurst Park at the earliest opportunity. Whilst a transfer in January is not out of the question, it’s thought a move in the summer is more likely. Zaha knows his future may lie outside the Premier League, with only a handful of clubs across Europe having the funds to consider such a deal. Last summer, Palace turned down a bid, believed to be around £63m, from Everton, with chairman Steve Parish holding out for around £80m, prompting Zaha to put in a transfer request to the club. More recently, long-time admirers Chelsea have reportedly rekindled their interest in the 27-year old winger, with the lifting of their transfer ban and Zahavi known to be a good friend of the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha Gets a New Agent' by Midlands Eagle A lot of different zaha threads have covered this. Would be a good idea to merge them into one big one . Like the Wilfred zaha thread . It will soon hit my target of 1 million views. Is it a record mods ? Or has there been a bigger one ?

What's the price at which Wilf would actually go. I.e. one that satisfies the buyer and us. Forget £80m. He's 2 years & 10 months from being 30. Who buys him now buys a player only to win things/secure Champions League football. And his goals & assists ratio is very poor for £80m and zero resale value. And there are other ways to do the same that are better long term. All the way down to £65m, I struggle to see why they would pay. At £60ish million it starts to make a little more sense for a buyer (but would still be problematic for lack of resale). But knock off 15% as Man U's cut (I've read bigger and smaller but 15% seems to have been the recurring figure). We are left with £51m. Difficult for us. Maybe Man U come in with £55m. He lifts them up the notch they need to guarantee CL football. He adds even more pace on the opposite flank to Rashford. Right or wrong, I'm convinced Parish feels a sense of fair play to let him go. And the moneyball-minded yanks will look at his age and stats and agree. But even at £55m net to us, I'm not convinced he'll go for the reasons stated. It's a gamble for everyone. I think his agent will tell him to play his bollocks off til summer to finally show his capabilities. Otherwise, he may well see out bus career at Selhurst.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

He is definitely playing within himself this season, but he hasn't been helped by a lack of creative players around him. One thing we definitely can't do is sell him until we have a replacement, especially not this month. I would be amazed if he were with us next season, but if his form doesn't improve it could see us forced to accept a lower offer but with added payments based on appearances, goals, etc. If we could get Batshuayi back then I think a front three of Wilf, Bats and Ayew would be a huge handful for any defence, especially if we can finally get a new (and hopefully attacking) right-back (and possibly even left-back).
