Starmer is laying a trap for the hard left and so far it looks like they will walk right into it. Corbyn is yesterday's man (over 70 now) and damaged goods if the left have any sense they will quietly let him fight his own battles whilst they look for a new creditable leader. The cause should always be more important than the man. If they come out strongly in trying to save him they will be seen by the public as supporting anti-Semitism which will allow Starmer a free hand to get rid of even more of them. They let Ken Livingston go because they realised he was too toxic they should do the same with Corbyn. They don't have to denounce him just move on. Meanwhile as they tear each other apart does anyone have some popcorn. Presuming by the left you mean the looney left not the centre left. Ive highlight two issues. 1) they have no sense 2) their ideas lack credibility. If you can read through the messages of support from his follows without being sick then you will see just how stupid they all are. Generally follows the line of "you ok jez, I'll pm u x" Red Ken was one they New Labour just couldn't shake off either. It is difficult to see how the Labour Party will force out these groups. The Tories have remained pretty quiet over this too. They could be a little concerned with events.

Big difference between risks with Islam and them living to different rules, whether Covid or non Covid, and not the case with Jews. News have never been a problem. They’re just too successful for left wingers.

For the sake of clarity, if you think the findings of the report should not be implemented in full or you agree with JC's view there was a media smear campaign and internal derailers and the problem was not as bad as the report indicates, then you are not welcome in the Labour party and should resign. Go off with your anti semitic mates and form a new party

As long as they deal with complaints about racism Islamaphobia etc. quickly and fairly they have nothing to worry about from the EHRC. It occurs to me that the major parties should look at how Nigel Farage and UKIP dealt with these issues. For all of the left comments that UKIP is a racist party whenever there was a complaint about some idiotic UKIP supporter they would sack them withing weeks if not days.

Starmer must go. The public will not trust him, just a two-faced lawyer. Astounding lack of political nous, splitting the party by suspending Corbyn, a life-long socialist and the former leader. It is not as if Corbyn did not act over anti-semitism, he did, and where was Starmer himself during this. Harold Wilson would turn in his grave, the labour party has its left and right wings the leader must unify them as they cannot have their own way.

Disappointed in you Steeleye it sounds like you are down playing the issue. Starmer is using it to his advantage because that's what politicans do. The reason that this all came about was the sharp increase in membership when Corbyn became leader, unfortunately it brought in a lot of nasty people who probably are not proper Labour supporters. Corbyn did not do enough to kick this scum out and allowed his staff to interfere and bully people when they complained. It's all there in the report you mention lack of political nous well that fits Corbyn as well to a tea. This was a hot button issue through out his leadership and he simply failed to deal with it. I don't know what he was thinking or why he thought this would not damage him it did and will continue to do so.

People have their rights and cannot be dismissed as anti-semitic without evidence. 'clearing scum out' etc. try that one in court. The report is very light on actual cases, for which the labour party has a working process in place already, instigated by their former leader. But he is not a 'fuhrer' if you were accused of anti-semitism think how you would feel. Do other parties have similar procedures in place? I think not.

The public voted in a two-faced scumbag like Johnson so why would Starmer be any different? I get excatly where you are coming from but politics at the top levels is a funny old game and what people tend to value above all else in their leaders, whether we like it or not, is a sense that these are people who will make tough decisions. Starmer is ruthless. Yes, he is two faced and anybody would even a basic level of understanding are looking on aghast at how a man who was in the top echolons of Corybns shadow cabinet and did not say boo to a goose over this issue can now act so high and might. But the public don't see that. They see a man who is called 'Sir.'. Who wears nice suits. And who acts. It is possible this will work out well for him. Shows what a s***ty business politics is. The question for you on the Left is where you go. I suspect you might all chuck a few toys out of the pram but essentially sit back and swallow this. Bide your time would be my advice. Work at a local level, make the constituency system work for you. And accept that you have lost this battle, no matter how hard that might be to. We all have to eat s***. Key to it is to only pretend to swallow. Keep it in your mouth, let it rot down and then, when the time it right, spit it back out in the faces of those force fed you it in the first place. s***, I should be charging for this! LOL.

This is the culture that is being created. An allegation leads straight to conviction.

Harold Wilson would turn in his grave, the labour party has its left and right wings the leader must unify them as they cannot have their own way. Sums up the problem with the looney left. Starmer is the democratically elected leader of the Labour Party. Corbyn is a communist throwback refusing to give up power. He refused to step down after every defeat at the polls, chased people out of the party, and completely ignored anti-semitism. Ultimately, his poor campaigning allowed Brexit to happen and handed the Tories two general election victories despite completely f***ing everything up. That's how bad he is. He's not been accused of antisemitism. He's been found guilty of wilfully ignoring it. Brushing it aside as exaggerated fake news. Theres 130 pages of evidence against him from Equality and Human Rights Commission. It couldn't be more damning. When someone is found guilty, this issue isn't about how they feel, its about the victim. This is starting to highlight the dangers far left groups pose. They accuse everyone of being criminals but really they just want power and have no regard for peoples human rights. Starmer was knighted for his work on human rights, but you just want to throw inaccurate cheap stereotypical insults. The Law Society and Council of the Bar have tighter regulations on its members than any other professional organisation.
