Becaus Starmer is never going to be forgiven by the Left for this. If he does not actively seek to drive them out now, he will be constantly looking over this shoulder. They are turning on each other faster than the CONS in the north on boris, it should be interesting.

But we will see. Problem for the Left is what do they actually do? If they split away and stand against Labour, they don't actually have any impact other than enusring the Tories a bigger majority next time around. And if the Unions pull the funding then once again, they just help the Tories. If they are clever they will remain within the Labour Party. Bide their time. Question then is if Starmer lets them? Still a lot of Corbyn supporters at a local level and they can cause probably more problems from inside than out. I suspect Starmer might have over-played his hand. Question is if the Left respond by over-playing theirs.

Its gets kids there because they the cream off the best talent at the 11+ then they flog them to death with work and homework in an intensely competitive environment. States schools would never get away with it. Most of the time they a day care centres having to constantly adjust to political medalling. Then from what I know of Oxbridge, the workload at those universities is horrific. Its why they are number 3 and 4 in the world. Some credit must go to the kids for going through it. It's not just parents buying a pass straight through to government. We are lucky to have some of the world's best educational establishments in this country. Some on the left would crush it out of envy. The current crop of Cameron/Boris grew up in an age of non-competitive sports days at state school. Its a shame there's no system to push talented kids who's parents can't afford it.

Why are they turning oop norf. Yeah mate, unprecedented new mps voting against the government, yet they did, thought they had a job for life with the boris revolution, then realise the majority are up in arms, so worried about re election, but have 4 more years anyway!

I am paraphrasing Starmer and to be pedantic should have indicated such. I think you mean summarise the conclusions of the report, which has not been made available to the public yet so all reporting is reliant on those who have seen it such as Starmer. I haven't seen any comment from Baroness Chakrabati on current events. Presumably she reported on a different Labour Party to the one EHRC investigated. I confess I am having a great day watching Labour tear itself apart, which was inevitable the day Corbyn became leader. The AS problem in Labour went from being small and unacceptable pre Corbyn to huge and accepted under Corbyn and mirrors the rise in membership that enabled Corbyn from the far left, Momentum, SWP factions.
Go on then, name the conclusions of the report.

Yeah, guess so, doubt anythings going to change either. Nope, because what we should be doing is checking what works for the best schools and seeing how to emulate it. In the state sector. Overall resources of LEA'S far outweigh that of individuals private schools which huge purchasing power. Yet they do everything with one hand tied behind there back. Academies have gone some way to address that, but more could be done. Breaking news is that Starmer predicted Corbyn's move setting him up to say something that would get him suspended. Politically out manoeuvred yet again. Why are people so committed to defending a guy with such a terrible record at the polls. Cult of personality?

They are turning on each other faster than the CONS in the north on boris, it should be interesting. Starmer is laying a trap for the hard left and so far it looks like they will walk right into it. Corbyn is yesterday's man (over 70 now) and damaged goods if the left have any sense they will quietly let him fight his own battles whilst they look for a new creditable leader. The cause should always be more important than the man. If they come out strongly in trying to save him they will be seen by the public as supporting anti-Semitism which will allow Starmer a free hand to get rid of even more of them. They let Ken Livingston go because they realised he was too toxic they should do the same with Corbyn. They don't have to denounce him just move on. Meanwhile as they tear each other apart does anyone have some popcorn.

Exactly even if they win Corbyn is an old man and yesterday's man in political terms where does it get them? Surely it makes sense to look for a new younger Corbyn type replacement that they can rally around and defend the Labour party as they see it. Not that I am complaining mind you I am quite happy watching them commit Seppuku.
