Plenty of dishonest misinformation here. Lets clear it up.

Firstly the tweet makes and provides no reference of the US state department other than to say it 'forced Ukraine'? How?

It actually just underlines a possible punishment floated in order punish people who dodge a potential draft which is not the same thing.

Here comes the classic truth fake combo which is common amongst pro russian crowd and 'media'.

The Ukrainian government does want to draft another 500,000 men in order to maintain a manpower advantage over the Russians who have been waging war against them for the last ten years. Thats the truth and hardly suprising, the issue at hand is 'how'?

Now the fake...Ukrainians parliament does not outlaw opposition parties. You can just look at that my checking the current make up of the Ukrainian parliament here:

What actually happened was that after Russian openly invaded Ukraine, 11 parties with pro russian links were outlawed.

Hilariously the 'pro russian' group on here often tie the issue of free speech as a reason not to support Ukraine and closet support Russia, despite the fact that Russia openly restricts its opposition, jails and even murders its members. Lovely stuff (links available on request).

Finally, the link attempts to show how Ukraine is an autocracy waiting to be rescued by the Russians. But then links to a news story mentioning about how the law has been progressing through the Ukrainian legislature. The very same legislature that told its 'absolute dictator' Zelensky "no, do better". You know, kind of what a legislature if supposed to do.

This of course is in contrast to the Russian Duma (that bastion of democracy) who passed 541 bills with 90% and about yes margins and definitely doesnt just rubber stamp Putin's opnion of the day

This thread has a lot of my perspective....which a lot of can be summed up by the videos on page 450.....However much of the other side which I'm interested in is battlefield reports.

Anyone out there who believes anything the mainstream media tells them about a war has to understand that much of what you will hear in that mainstream will be curated and filtered via intelligence and security services of either Nato or Russia. As anyone who has seen a bit of life will understand is that... outside of genuine mistakes....what you will get is misleading language and most of all...lies by omission in what is being covered because it won't follow their general narrative on a war.
Both sides do this within their mainstream media which most normies will live by and consider truth.

You can't just automatically 'pick a side' as it were and then believe everything that they say unless that side is intrinsically honest....which, I can't think of any example.

The person who is interested in getting nearest to the truth has to go looking for those whose past predictions and commentary most faithfully matched with what then happened. That's the criteria I use anyway.

There is a political position, which will depend upon your political view of past events and then there is the physical reality on the ground....the battlefield itself. Both are subject to lies and half truths but ultimately it's the battlefield realities that can't be lied about.

I have the sources that I use but if someone wants to follow a pro Ukrainian channel, run by a former soldier, which I've found to be far more sensible and honest than most I'll link it here.
