Huge news

AJ and Fury agree terms for 2 fight deal

Massive!

It kind of betrays Whyte though if it goes ahead before his mandatory.

Good points Kenny. Truth is if held here, it will cost you 80 quid to sit at the back of Wembley or wherever where you will end up watching it on the big screen tv above the ring anyway.

I go to a lot of fights but don’t waste my money going to these events as can’t afford/justify them (as fork out for my boys ticket as well)

May watch this on pay per view with a beer and a takeaway. Prefer a night down York Hall where you can see the blood and smell the fear.

Lol yes I went to York Hall once... Such a legendary status but couldn't believe how small and run down it was!!

I was lucky enough to come into some money when AJ vs Miller was announced in New York.. Always wanted to tick MSG off the bucket list so me and two mates booked to go... Then obviously it got changed to Ruiz...

I suppose you could say I was lucky enough to witness a historical boxing event live!!

Certainly would. Since losing to AJ, Whyte has gone on a terrific winning streak, however money talks.
Personally I hope Whyte gets a shot soon, but not before AJ Fury happens.

As much as he deserves a shot and I hope he gets it i genuinely don't think Whyte is good enough to be a world champion... I like the fella but he just ain't got it in my opinion.

Hard to disagree.

Whyte is probably as good as any in the chasing pack however there’s very much a top three at the moment.

Just watched I am Duran on Sky. It’s not bad but maybe overly sympathetic, in my memory he was a much more snarling and threatening figure than he comes across here and with too much talk about Noriega. It’s worth a watch.

I once heard a story from an old boxing scribe who said that before Duran first visited New York he was warned not to go out after dark as back then, late seventies I’m guessing, parts of it were pretty scary. Anyway apparently Duran was always tired the next day at New York training camp as he spent most nights walking round the rough neighbourhoods basically looking to get mugged.

Guy was a bloody nutter. He infamously once knocked out a horse.

Second or third best ever living fighter.

He was certainly always worth watching. It’s a shame he had to go up the weights in an era that included Leonard, Hearns and the great Marvin Hagler. His win against Iran Barkley was a mark of the man.

He also beat an excellent fighter called Jorge Castro who’s record at the time was 101-5-2

Duran at the time was 46!!!

Recent events aside, if this comes off then it would be the biggest fight since Tyson Holyfield.

Having one heavyweight champ with all/most of the belts would be great for boxing.

See Fury winning, how? Not sure.

Don’t see AJ knocking Fury out (although he is of course more than capable) but if Fury can take Wilders shots he can take AJs.

Not a chance in hell that AJ out boxes Fury.

This is a fight that would transcend boxing, black v white, north v south.

Bring it on boys!

Alright Tom. Hope you are well.
I’ve always liked AJ , positive with a good message. He massively f***ed up with that speech. Think Fury fans were growing anyway, but think he is liked by all races now, proper ‘man of the people’. 4 years ago the crowd would have been 90-10 AJ. Now I reckon 70-30 Fury.
I’d like to see the best man win.

Dubois v Joyce

Now looking to be rescheduled for October at the 02

Not sure of the logistics involved.

Real pick em fight.
