Wondered how long it would be before people started turning on the victims. Well, quoting reality is exactly that. There are those who will and are taking advantage of the tragic sitiuation. Are you happy for your taxes to be wasted by someone moaning that £5000 after one week isn't enough?

What's the point? Lazy journalism is lazy journalism. Just like you're a bit lazy with your cut n paste jobs. It's cover filler....I'd like to know about the veracity of the piece personally....when it's titled anonymous and there's no way of checking skepticism isn't unfair. This doesn't cast doubt upon the very obvious hellhole it would have been....it's that....well perhaps I just don't believe something just because it's written down.

If you've just survived a life threatening event, a few weeks away for your children from your school of choice should be the last thing on your mind. Smells of many trying to take advantage of generosity and trying to 'live' a life they weren't living before off the backs of others. It doesn't really surprise me at all as it's endemic in the local culture. I listened to one gut moaning that £5000 was no where near enough money that he's received. Er, it's only been a week since the fire occured. Edited by europalace (20 Jun 2017 3.36pm) It's only one and it's only Metro but you just know that some people will try this on.

Apparently, 180 families have received initial payments of £5500. There were 120 flats.

Waiting for those doubters to come out again and express their misgivings about the veracity. I couldn't believe what some posters were coming up with on here yesterday in their attempt to dismiss things not in keeping with their own political views.

See the stories about people trying to make out of the tragedy. Instead of this, why aren't journalists demanding answers. Do we know how many other towers have the dodgy cladding? What's being done in those places? Why have Ealing council been bought in to coordinate? Why was stuff around the building (Street furniture)preventing emergency service access? Who signed off the use of the cladding? Call me a cynic, but I imagine shredders have been going into overdrive.

Did the Queen get bunged £5,000? Did Corbyn pop round to show solidarity? The people demand to know.
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |
