Yeah well one of those is me and the other two look like Palace fans as well :-) Kinda makes me hope this is the season we finally work out how to turn Arsenal over. My sense is that we will still be looking for at least one more striker or attacking goalscoring midfielder after this, otherwise we will be left with just two (very good) strikers for the season...

Wenger's 'philosophy' is his immense vanity that he is a genius coach that can spot and nurture otherwise ignored talent, and therefore doesn't need to go to market to complement his creative team building. Just like a bloke who thinks he's going to live forever and won't go to the doctor even if his head is falling off. What's the score with Pato at Chelsea? I think he'd be an ideal third striker- very quick and if we're chasing a game we could put him up top with Wickham (or hopefully CB!) I would absolutely love to see Sigurdsson sign- would be a perfect foil for the wingers and forwards and is great from dead ball situations as well

So people keep saying. I'm not seeing any names though Pelle? I would say somewhere between Wickham and Benteke in terms of ability, and similar attributes to both. I'd imagine would be around the $15m and I wouldn't be at all disappointed to see him at Palace if Benteke didn't happen. (I think Benteke's worth more than $15m just for the avoidance of doubt).

Pelle is a player who needs the ball played to him, not to hardly ever run onto. Check his goals. Since when were palace players able to do that to a striker of ours : ) Benteke is a palace kinda player

No, Liverpool do not hold ALL the cards. The BEST cards yes. They are holding their breaths hoping to offload Benteken for the massive money they paid for him. They have less to lose and therefore more leverage but that's not ALL the cards. If we decide to leave the table they'll come back with a lower offer - but I don't think we want to risk that.

That geezer that wrot the article about the gooders us and money is clearly a jealous fan or at least I hope he will be jealous later this week. He talks complete s***e. If we get Benteke which is what stems his envy we will have the most powerful forward line in the premier. Bolasie wick ham zaha Benteke Saha Townsend. Would you want to come up against that raw power. It is genuinely awesome.

Decent shout but: Pelle is a very good player but he is 31 next week, in all likelihood (but not certain) his best years are now behind him. The fee we would pay is dead money, no resale value at all. If he leaves Southampton I see him following Koeman. Lastly, Benteke can be a better a player than Pelle and has a better PL scoring rtecord
