Well I think with Trump who knows what will actually happen - from his speeches he does recognise now that a few members pay 2% of GDP for NATO but he doesn't want to defend countries who don't and could drag his country into WW3. But its all up in the air.

The fact that one of the largest contributors to the Remain propaganda campaign received money from Brussels must make you think that maybe you were being spoon fed false information that you lapped up and subsquentialy defecated over these boards to support your position on the referendum and the result. You have said numerous times that the Leave campaign utilised the 'extreme right [sic]' media to perpetuate myths about the EU, why the reluctance to question those who support your views? Bit of a pointless argument surely? Yes obviously the Remain camp sexed up the catastrophic predictions. Just as the Brexit campaign hugely sexed up the potential benefits of leaving. You've got Justin King saying today ( [Link] ) that prices at the supermarket are going to increase 5%. He should know the likely outcome given he spent 10 years looking at forecasts and results for Sainsburys. Edited by OknotOK (23 Nov 2016 2.29pm)

"Mr King, who backed the Remain campaign in the referendum" Yes. So what? How exactly does that make his considered views on the economic impact less valid? He lost - he's not trying to get the decision reversed. It's his view of the world going forward. Is no one allowed to express a view now because they had a view on the referendum one way or the other. It's pathetic that the best you can do to try and discredit the views he is espousing is that. Edited by OknotOK (23 Nov 2016 3.13pm) You're misinterpreting what I am saying and not seeing the bigger picture. I have never said that no one can provide a view on the referendum. What I have said is that people, who have agendas with regards Brexit and, in particular, have campaigned one way or the other, should be questionned when they make scare stories. The bigger picture is that the Remain campaign is now actively seeking to stop Article 50 being invoked. They are doing this through court cases, publishing scare stories in the media and actively recruiting people to shoot this down, in the courts or in parliament. It looks like Tony Blair will comeback to fight. Alastair Campbell has said that the Remain camp should use any tool possible to stop Brexit happening. Groups of Remain MP's, a cross party consortium, are reportedly seeking to block Brexit in the Commons and the Lords. Owen Smith has said that he will reject Brexit ties in the Commons in order to stop Brexit. I believe that not all is at is appears and that the Remainers will stop at nothing to stop the will of the people.

Hoist with your own petard there, Matthew. How? Am I writing articles detailing dubious statistics for periodicals? Am I a person who commentates on issues of national importance to an audience of millions? The answer is no to both because I was talking about the reaction and action of the Remain establishment in the above, not people conveying personal views on a football website.

From the FT commnets section:
Remainers “But it’s not possible!” Leavers “The People Have Spoken. Therefore it is possible. You just have to think positively.” Remainers “And do what exactly?” Leavers “Come up with a Plan that will leave us all better off outside the EU than in it” Remainers “But it’s not possible!” Leavers “Quit with the negative vibes. The People Have Spoken.” Remainers “But even you don’t know how!” Leavers “That’s your problem, we’ve done our bit and voted, we’re going to sit here and eat popcorn and watch as you do it.” Remainers “Shouldn’t you do it?” Leavers “It’s not up to us to work out the detail, it’s up to you experts.” Remainers “I thought you’d had enough of experts” Leavers “Remain experts.” Remainers “There are no Leave experts” Leavers “Then you’ll have to do it then. Oh, and by the way, no dragging your feet or complaining about it, because if you do a deal we don’t want, we’ll eat you alive.” Remainers “But you don’t know what you want!” Leavers “We want massive economic growth, no migration, free trade with the EU and every other country, on our terms, the revival of British industry, re-open the coal mines, tea and vicars on every village green, some bunting, and maybe restoration of the empire.” Remainers “You’re delusional.” Leavers “We’re a delusional majority. DEMOCRACY! So do the thing that isn’t possible, very quickly, and give all Leavers what they want, even though they don’t know what they want, and ignore the 16 million other voters who disagree. They’re tight trouser latte-sipping hipsters who whine all the time, who cares.” By Ishtar Ostaria

My eternal question is whatever was the Brexit set of policies for exit from EU and who is going to lead such argument given current configuration of Cabinet? I'm still looking forward to Andrea Leadsom and how she tackles Farming industry and potential loss of much valued EU grants...
