This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I see that Wilf didn't play or wasn't on the bench for Ivory coast last night, maybe withdrawn through injury.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Wilfs main problem is that he plays for us and we are for 70 minutes a game just playing containment. Chelsea were at 72% posession for the first half and nearly all of the 6 or so times we moved it forwards we went right. Wilf never even got a pass.

Im sorry but dont agree, same players out there that played in the end of season, eg. against the cherries and we are not playing with the same flow. dont remember last season being so boring football wise except at home perhaps. we seemed to give it go most of the time, we seem to be getting more negative the longer we stay in the prem. In my opinion every Palace player would love to be playing in that Chelsea side and challenging for trophies.. The issue Wilf has is that he may relish the chance to play for Chelsea but he is not good enough to play for Chelsea, so he is stuck with us and that must be very difficult for him to come to terms with. I still stick to my views that he will never be signed for a so called top 6 club because his overall game has too many flaws coupled with his massive weakness of constantly allowing opposition players, fans and refs to put him off his game.

If you watch Wilf, the amount of times hes free and shows his frustration at not being played the ball or into the space is mental. I know hes a moany so and so anyway but hes had enough in my opinion and feels hes being held back. We just dont have the creative minded players with the periphery vision to spot the opportunities. I cannot actually remember the last player we had that ability to spot the pass and split the defence - serious question who was that?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I'd take £60mil for Wilf if we can get rid in jan - give wickham to the champ big ben to china and reinvest with a few bob to spare - striker, winger, rb and attacking mid - ok maybe not a few bob to spare but the wage bill wud have been reduced so it is affordable, but we'll keep a below par wilf and have a poor window again no doubt - ownership issues redevelopment lack of youngsters coming through, choppy waters ahead a bit of Warnock style teeth gritting is helping us to punch above our weight - but a critical time is ahead, we cud do a Charlton/Sunderland/Ipswich - but u never know, Leics and Wolves have dropped to league 1 in recent years and look at them now. The Wilf money and how it is spent is obviously crucial - but it seems finding a buyer is not the formality we all assumed it wud be.
