What about the slightly rational left-wing Brexiters like Attlee, Foot, Benn, Skinner, Corbyn, McDonnell, Galloway, Scargill ... Edited by hedgehog50 (20 Jun 2017 7.21pm) They have/had their opinions but I don't think they would have been caught nodding in the direction of Nige with his populist mumbo-jumbo and rabble-rousing.

As time goes on the stupidity of the referendum becomes more and more apparent every day. Edited by Kermit8 (20 Jun 2017 6.46pm) Remaining in the EU was and is the far worse option. Though not if you are of the new 'progressive' far left...I accept that. Their worldview is not a world I think is achievable and ultimately worsens outcomes. Economically long term being outside the EU will also be the better option. That's independent of whether it stays together or not....But much more so if it breaks up. Also I'd like to state that the UK's vote to leave the EU was the most joyous thing to happen politically that I can remember.

For me, the benefits of Brexit are a generational thing. I have always expected it to make the country poorer in the short term. It will be a rocky five years....things won't get better till around 2025. I say this but in truth the extent of this all depends upon the deal anyway. That's if the EU actually stays together.....which is probably an evens bet. If it breaks up we will suffer less than we would if we were in...even though we would still suffer. The capacity to make our own deals will be an extremely important factor and will eventually start to see us doing a little better around 2030. That's how I see it objectively....in terms of the country's finances. For me this was always a long term decision in terms of economics. Immigration and population control was the biggest factor for me. We are yet to really know how this is going to pan out. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Jun 2017 5.51pm) I'll give you evens on that. I'll PM you my bank details.

Dear left, Enjoy your "day of rage" temper tantrum today. I'll be working and paying taxes towards the added burden this will place on public services. Dear business owners, If and when they get violent today, prevent your business from being targeted by sticking a "Job Centre" sign on your door.
