Corbyn is just not worth any discussion anymore, he's like a cold war relic from the 60s. He's rusting away in a dry docks right now.

He and his friends have managed to infiltrate the Labour party from grass roots all the way up, Starmer has a job on his hands to bring Labour back to the centre ground. Edited by Badger11 (23 Jul 2020 2.31pm) You mean the tory centre ground. No thanks. Socialist measures are being used with some success, and otherwise where would we be.

Quasi-socialist measures, implemented by a sensible, centrist government. As opposed to socialist measures implemented by Marxist lunatics. Big difference.

I loved Labour losing in 2019 but it was the biggest act of self-harm ever seen in British politics. Beyond stupidity. Why? And now this? The role of the offical opposition is an important one in how Britain functions. The leader of that opposition matters in the wider context of the UK. The focus now has to be on Starmer. Because he is a wrong'un. A 100% bought and paid for stooge.

Bump. The EHRC Report on Anti Semitism in the Labour Party is due out on Thursday. It will be interesting to see if they find Labour guilty and name names and if Corbyn gets any blame. From that Tory loving rag The Guardian

I'd like to see the nasty old man chucked out of the Labour Party. He'd be much happier on the outside firing in and he can sit around chatting with his mates in Hamas to his heart's content. From there he can slowly decline into rabid senility and sprout his antisemitism all day long. The damage Corbyn and his like have to Labour is enormous. Originally posted by Badger11

Quite possibly the last potential prime minister in our lifetimes with a principled mission in politics beyond self-gain.

Quite a dull report in the end, which isn't surprising given it comes from a very dull organisation. It got the headline in terms of interference in the complaints process, but the detailing means any legal challenge to someone significant won't stick. Its conclusion was also a dampener for the more zealous right wingers who wanted Corbyn et al expelled. Starmer said he'd act on all recommendations, and in the end he's probably relieved that they are pretty minor and unlikely to enflame the factional warfare. He can make a boring speech about detail which is his favourite thing to do and move on.

It was always a bit of damp squib really in that when push comes to shove the attempts to equate anti-semitism with criticism of Isrealis policies falls down pretty much at the first corner of any kind of rigourous examination. Which ultimately is really the crux of it all. But lets be honest, a significant proportion of the Left feel Israel should not exist in the first place. Which is a lot more dubious.
