This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle He's got to go really. Best player in my lifetime that will never change. But.. the fact he's been a bit of a nobhead with the transfer request is a bit like a tainted lover.. makes the break a little easier. Cheers for everything Wilf. This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle He won't be going anywhere with his current performances. No club will pay big money for how he has been playing this season, and Palace won't let him go on the cheap. We are stuck with him, and he is stuck with us. He better get used it and start performing.

We are stuck with him, and he is stuck with us. He better get used it and start performing. I agree completely with this. He is not good enough to pick and choose one of the top sides so it is left with the likes of Everton or the other clubs that are closer to our level and they wouldnt pay the money we want. His long contract has basically tied him to us for a long time and I can see no winners in this. I honestly don't believe that there is a club in the division who would pay big money for him. Over the past couple of seasons he has turned himself into a pantomime villian and every club and their fans just target him and he reacts. What other player do you ever see in the middle of a match jesturing back to the oppo fans ? His head is never on the game, he is constantly feeling hard done by which is not good enough for a so called top player. Vardy mocked our fans but at least he waited till he scored a goal to do it. Wilf is cupping his ears after nutmegging someone. I have had a lot of joy watching Wilf play for us over the years but I have never rated him as anywhere near the top players in this country.I think he has let his ego get the better of him and he believes he is better than what he is. The Wilf clickbait stories will start again soon and I for one won't be clicking on them because it is all garbage.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Bottom line...we'd be lucky to get 40m after the start to the season he's had and his age. Either his form has gone or he's choosing to play poorly. Neither are the actions of a top player. I'd love to see his stats v last season. One thing I will say though is that his passing has improved.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Wilf has not been right this season, but bigger players than him have had similar periods when thing haven't gone their way. The question is whether he can turn it around. I don't agree at all with those who say he isn't a top player in terms of his ability; teams don't put three players on an average player. His attitude has always been questionable and now he has soured his relationship with the fans following the transfer request understandably people have become less tolerant, especially when coupled with below par performances. I really hope he turns it around and then gets his big move so he can go out on a high, as I am fed up of reading people slagging him off or questioning his ability when he has probably been our best player for at least 20 if not 30 years. Given he also gives 10% of his salary to charity and always seems to have time for the fans I am happy to forgive some on field petulance.

Conversely clubs weren't exactly queueing around the block to sign him in the summer at the price we thought he was worth. We were ultimately offered marginally less than the vastly less experienced Wan-Bissaka suggesting that, whatever our supporters may think, other clubs don't rate him as "our best player for at least 20 if not 30 years"

Noone was saying That AWB was better but Wilf is the finished article - he aint getting much better.

Plus, aside from Pepe, none of the big clubs signed an expensive forward this summer (unless I'm forgetting one) suggesting it has nothing to do with Wilf and more to do with the fact most of them have a full quota of forwards (or a transfer ban) and so are not going to spend big on another one.
