Wilf got booked early in the game and that seemed to upset him. He has been a way short of his best this season. It's time we stopped being so reliant on one player. Much as I will miss him, the time looks increasingly right for him to move on. Spot on, he has been poor and under par all season. Lost a load of pace, slows our attacks down, no goals and two assists all season however sulks a plenty! Some of the games we may as well have played with ten men he was that ineffective and disinterested...Sheffield United away for example, mind you they were all dire that day.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I love Wilf, and I agree that when he's gone, we're going to be an automatic relegation candidate. But...he's been awful the past few matches. Against Chelsea he was almost embarrassing. Most times he touched the ball he was dispossessed immediately. The other times, he held the ball until covered, then did a useless back pass to someone. After 90 minutes, the only positive thing he contributed was one decent pass to McCarthy once we were losing 2-0. At no point did he make a run, or take on defenders. I doubt he even needed a shower after the match was over. So yes, please just sell him and get it over with. He's the best ever to wear our shirt, but it's over. We did nothing with all that AWB money, so whatever we get for Zaha apparently won't go to help the team anyway. I have no idea what our plan is, but clearly Zaha has no part in it.

I agree that Zaha has been poor this season and his attitude has looked bad. Look at what Hodgson did to England's best by the end of his tenure. They were completely different players under their club managers. Hodgson crushes out any sign of flair.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Not Wanting to stray into 'be careful what you wish for territory' but I'm starting to think that getting rid of Wilf may be the way forward. move him on. get 1 or 2 in and have a team that works together, rather than one that relies on an individuals brilliance.

Sun exclusive claiming that United plan to sign him once again for £70m in January. Let's take the money and rebuild the squad, not the stadium,on this occasion. If that were to be true then absolutely take the money and run.... It is quite clear he no longer wants to be here and I often wonder if his actions/sulking this season is having a negative impact on the rest of the squad... On his performances so far this season is be amazed if anyone offered £70m this season but something needs to change. I say we say goodbye to a truly amazing servant to our club and an outstanding talent but the time has come to move on and build again
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle As I said a few pages back, I do think United is the best fit for him from the big clubs. James on the right and Wilf on the left and Rashford and Martial would give make them a huge threat on the break. There aren't many top attacking players outside the top 6 who have PL experience and who could add a real threat, so this rumour doesn't seem that far fetched. Plus United could get him cheaper due to the sell-on clause. I think it all really depends on what Parish wants.
