I have just sent the video to a friend who still works at a major airport. He commented that over the last 18 months airports have been inundated with “asylum seekers” from South America ( mainly Honduras). They travel via Madrid, so where they speak the same language. Why not claim asylum there? Some of the answers he has received “ we are treated better here” Spain do not give us houses” “ don’t want to be there as full of South Americans!”.
Very few of these have a genuine claim but take advantage of our generous Assisted Voluntary Removal Scheme. Basically if they withdraw their claim they get a return ticket and a couple of thousand pounds. Funny how the danger to life disappears. Do other countries offer this? Not sure they do.
This scheme has run for years but, is never mentioned publicly

All possible incentives need to be removed. People should get food and a roof over their heads of some type. The necessities for life. There is absolutely no reason why someone fleeing from genuine danger would not accept that.
Then the whole case process needs to be sped up and stop rubber stamping clear economic migrants. I work with these people. Have recently had people from South Africa, Romania, Poland and Albania! Three of those are EU countries! Everyone from Bangladesh and pakistan says they're from Somalia. Hilariously had a Somalian called Imran Khan the other day. Another was Abdul Q'adir. I told him I watched cricket - he laughed. They're not being sent back.

Albania not in EU yet. It is not uncommon for claimants to claim they are a nationality that would, in general, by accepted. Years ago Nigerians claimed to be Liberians. More recently South Africans claimed to be Zimbabwean, don’t forget they rarely have any genuine documentation .
The majority of Somalis and Ethiopians have very distinctive features, which with experience you come to recognise. This is not a racist comment by the way
