Their wants. No one is motivated by their needs (well they are, but not in this sense). People are more motivated to achieve their desires.

The motivations to achieve needs, are much darker drives, which its probably wise to avoid relying on.

Capitalism is the recognition of human nature independent of ethics.

Socialism is the ignoring or ignorance of human nature in hope of a more equal world.

An intelligent meshing of the two hopefully filters out the worse of both and enhances the best.

I generally agree with this.

Capitalism I think represents more of a reality where people cannot be trusted to be moral. Socialism relies on the requirement that people are moral.

Capitalism and Socialism are both ignorant of human nature (Capitalism fails to understand non-financial human motivation, Socialism fails to understand that humans are individuals first and foremost). The Third world is an inevitable consequence of capitalism, and oppressive regimes are the end result of total socialism.

Either one, devoid of the critical position of the other, are effectively socially harmful, in that the provide an immediate imbalance of corruptive power and

Of course that means Liberalism. Which ironically, I'd argue is probably the political movement that has done the most good in the UK in the last 200 years, and that everyone else tries to claim the credit for.

People who think solely in terms of parties winning the general election, fail to understand representative democracy. We shouldn't care so much about the parties, and be more focused on ensuring the people who we elect to represent us, represent the constituents.

Neither side actually won the election, as neither could form a government. The Conservatives however could achieve a government, if they could win over the DUP.

So arguably the only party that won the general election was the DUP, as they formed a government.

No-one won the GE which is why they are operating as a minority government. How long they can steer that rudderless ship before it hits the rocks and smashes into smithereens is anyone's guess but I wouldn't be to optimistic of them being in power for the full term.

If another GE was held soon you and I both know the Tories would be even more worse off...unless they can pull that magic rabbit out of the hat.

I think you'll find everyone lost.

The poll is interesting now as it gives the Tories a conundrum whether to limp on as best they can, having to deal with the zealots in the DUP on every vote and having to prop up a lame duck PM, or instead topple May and go for another GE ASAP and aim to actually win it this time.

More rubbish from you kermit8 how can you say no one won the election if that was the case no 10 would be empty right now. OK so May has to run without an outright majority and has the DPU to prop up the government but at least that loser Corbyn is not in charge thank god as that would have been a disaster and the country would run into so much debt we would sink this time. Have to keep him out and all his "Freebies" he promised the youth. They fell for it as they would when offered a load of stuff free forgetting that someone has to pay for it and there is no Golden Goose at the end!

Did the Tories gain seats at the election, then? Or did I miss some fake news?

Turns out there is a magic money tree- only Theresa May dug it up, privatised it, and let the corporations plant it in their back garden.

No the Tories did not gain any seats but lost some but they still got the most votes and May is still our Prime minister. The money tree is in Corbyns garden so you got that bit wrong also!

Have you heard of fractional reserve banking? A magic money tree if there ever was one.

She's at it again. Treating our laws with disdain as though they didn't apply to her.
