Certainly under Corbyn I think it would have done, negatively in my opinion.

Some of this stuff is genuinely unbelievable. After the 2017 election, which at the time was seen as a surprisingly good result for Labour, this is how senior staff reacted: "We are silent and grey faced. Opposite to what We've been working towards for past 2 years". [Tweet Link]

What was surprising was the number of senior Labour politicians who the next day were behaving as though Corbyn had won and had to be reminded of the result. I don't doubt that the Blair faction were working on getting rid of Corbyn but this is no different to the far left working against the moderate Labour leaders of the past forty years, Corbyn especially, now they getting a taste of their own medicine. Politics is a dirty business, “Greater love hath no man than than to lay down a colleagues life for oneself.”

That's true, I'm not disputing the fact that politics is dirty. But this was senior staff, whose wages were paid by the membership, expressing disappointment that we didn't lose. You expect dirt to be thrown from your opponents. But to have the amount of snakes on your own team that this report highlights, is surprising.

A very divisive leader, it’s no surprise to me that some Labour people wanted him to crash and burn. Reminds me of the final FdB game where I was borderline wanting us to lose so we could get rid of him. Worked out well in the end, if we’d have given him a few more games I have no doubt we’d have been down.
