It was a serious point. I suspect that your 'helping society' is in fact helping certain sections of the population at the expense of others. 'Society' is a complex concept.

Nothing wrong with wealth distribution when helping to give those on the bottom rung a leg up. It is a truism that one can assess a country's moral fibre by looking at how the weakest and most vulnerable are cared for.

We shove old people into homes, let the mentally fragile roam the streets, allow ex-servicemen to sleep in doorways and watch idly by as the Government which 4.5/10 voters wanted rapes our public services.

We are, in short, an abused nation with no sense of empathy nor care trickling down from the very top for a long time now.

"rapes", "abused" lets use some emotive words shall we. Taxation over recent years has in fact fallen more heavily on the better off, those earning over £162,000 contribute 27% of all income tax, 90% of income tax is collected from 50% of taxpayers. taking money from people who have it and giving it to those who do not have as much doesn't really give anyone 'a leg up', it does give a leg down to those you have taken the money from. What does help people is having a sound economy with jobs and incentives to work and better yourself.

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell]

Well... I'm back after a hectic week, first post since the GE. I can't say I've had time to read the rhetoric on both sides, but I don't doubt that this has been spun as a victory for Corbyn - no doubt it is: he didn't lose as badly, offered the moon on a stick and achieved a 2% swing. Yet still lost. Yet still isn't PM....

...and thank fkuck for that. May et al. had a terrible campaign, but I'd much rather her than Corbyn. He's welcome to a stint at HMG after we Brexit, as I'd like the "yoot" to witness the clusterfcuk his brand of politics would unleash on the UK. Perhaps it will be a valuable lesson for them.

A valuable lesson has hopefully also been learnt for the Conservatives - May is useless, and should be interim only until it is opportune to replace her. It's sad that slick media grooming is the key to No. 10 these days (compare and contrast Corbyn's media appearances after his extensive coaching), but now it's all about Macron-Blair-Cameron PR, and not about competence (not that I'm sure May has too much going for her there either...)

Meanwhile, we have this reprehensible leftwing politicisation and griefmongering of the Grenfell fire. "Bring the government down" etc, all off the back of MaoDonnell imploring people to take to the streets in protest... of a democratic result to "force a new election". I thought populism was a bad thing, or is it only when it's not your side populising? The deliberate attempt to destabilise government outwith the ballot box: sounds like sedition to me. Particularly odious at that, when it uses the victims of Grenfell as the vehicle.

Christ. You've got a lovely sunny positive world view don't you.

I'm a realist dear boy and the sooner you cast of the shackles of delusion the quicker you will become liberated.

Egotism, religion, narcissism or a sense of superior morality are all conceit that needs to be cast aside if you want to really seek a genuine, meaningful piece of mind.
Do and think whatever you feel is right in your life but don't ever delude yourself about it's importance in what is very possibly a very meaningless universe.

Your entire existence seems to be a political spin.
You have just kidded yourself that you wear the white hat.

Can you explain what the point of this is? "Tories Out"? Is the aim to overturn the result of the GE? What does that make those that march under this aim?

You people are idiots. Enjoy your pointless march.

You overlook is that the cuts have fallen far more heavily on the working class. Just look at the state of the schools, the NHS, bedroom tax etc. At the same time the percentage of wealth going to the rich has spiralled, together with obscene pay in the City and boardrooms, while zero hours contracts and pay falling behind inflation has made it the worst time for living standards in living memory.
