Today's nap is Shersha (Sandown 4.10), with Khayyam (Yarmouth 3.25). Both finished second, having led into the final furlong. Gutted. Winnings down to £40.18.

O.K. - here's a tip from my heart again. HT/FT of Draw/Maccabi Haifa at 33/1 with totalbet and ukbetting. Got to be worth a few quid at that price! In the other game I'm going to go for another long shot - Newcastle/Newcastle at 5/1 with sportingbet. Long shots are good, they don't come in often, but when they do, they are worth having.

Sadly none of us got a winner again, the closest being the 11/10 half of my double. The other half didn't work so well, Bayer being beaten 6-2! I should have backed Forlan to score, surely the odds on that must have been huuuuuuuge...

You should still be able to get 14/1 (or 12/1 maybe) about Manhattan Cafe. It's a good fast Japanese horse - not well known in Europe, hence the generous odds, which are bound to shorten. High Chapparal is still suffering from health problems, Golan may withdraw and go for the Japan Cup and Islington may go for the Prix l'Opera. Which only leaves Sulamani to beat! So if you like the extra risk of an AP bet, get on it.

Absolutely no value to be had from any of the UEFA games involving British clubs tonight, unless you fancy 16/1 for Metalurg Zaporizhzhya to beat Leeds (would be nice) at Betabet. I think the best odds out there are the 4/1 for Panathanaikos half-time/full-time against Liteks Lovetch with Ladbrokes and Sportingbet. Panathanaikos have the class to win this game easily - the only thing which might stop them is if they play it safe, waiting for the 2nd leg. Best long shot of the night, Dinamo Tbilisi 11/1 with Ladbrokes to beat Liberec.
