It's about self interest. Most people would not be happy living in poverty so their neighbour can swan around in a new luxury car.

Until the big polluters who are all outside of the EU start to do something that is what the voters are being asked to do. Most people are in favour of saving the planet but when your neighbour doesn't give a damn I think they draw the line.

Anyway I it's not about my opinion or yours. The question I have asked the Hol is to keep an eye on the results we can then dissect them when they are known.

This though is an area where we can truly lead the world. It's a wonderful opportunity to develop technologies that can be exported.

Just because others are slower is no reason not to do it ourselves. We can only do what we have the capacity to do. So we should.

Anyone still denying the reality of climate change is beyond help. They will need to be ignored as we move forward. We really cannot waste time having stupid arguments over something so important.

In what way are you moving forward?

Apparently it was the warmest may on records. Obviously I don't believe a word of it.

I had the heating on and had jumpers and warm coats on throughout. It was the coldest May I can remember for a long time.

I think we can safely dismiss as misinformation any opinion coming from those who disregard the science on such things as vaccines and climate change.

There will always be such people.

I didn't realise the temperature was a matter of belief.

Well, I don't think we should treat the certainty of man made climate change like it's a religion but, personally, although I'm mildly sceptical about the green bandwaggon, I do believe that we should think worst case scenario when making policy.

The trouble is that we represent a minute piece of the global picture. We have to balance our impact on climate change against the interests of the country as a whole.

The planet will survive man, but one has to wonder if the survival of all of mankind is a positive. We could benefit from a lot less of us, and frankly, some of us we could do with without completely.

Nature will decide, and we are part of nature.

I do not deny climate change. And I do my small bit to help. But I still question the climate narrative and numbers being driven.

20 degrees used to be smiley faces on the weather forecast segments and now it's all turned to red with heat warnings of an apocalypse.

If you are not allowed to question the science it's not science after all but propaganda.

I'm not sure this proves or disproves your point, but Reform UK appear to deny the reality of Climate change:

Climate change has happened for millions of years, before man made CO2 emissions, and will always change. We are better to adapt to warming, rather than pretend we can stop it. Up to 10 times more people die of cold than warmth. In Roman Britain some 2,000 years ago, it was 2 degrees warmer than now. Grapes for wine were grown in Yorkshire.

We can't stop natural warming, it is part of the natural cycle. What we might do is minimise any extra warming that we might be responsible for.
Unfortunately, developing countries like China are unlikely to play ball. The USA could certainly do better.

The same way we all are. Day by day.

Classic error. Weather is temporary. Climate is long term.

You can certainly question science, but only with better science. Pseudo-science doesn’t count. There is no better science. Man made climate change is fact.

It’s true but totally misleading and irrelevant.

Natural warming and cooling occurs over long time spans of 100s or 1000s of years. We adapt naturally.

Man made climate change started in the Industrial Revolution and has been accelerating ever since to now be happening very quickly. Adapting needs to be managed to respond effectively.

And natural climate change is fact...

I wonder if the 2 degree increase in global temperature (which apparently is a problem) would delay the next cyclical ice age or prevent it altogether. The cyclical warming and cooling of the Earth is fact but it seems to be obliterated by the green movement whose science is the only science that is permitted.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.
