Well they appear to have dictated to all other bloc countries so the assumption is we would have been.
Facts wissie and numbers back it up.

Do you think you can interest us with a policy?

Sorry to bother you of course.

It does seem you are making assumptions as said, unless of course, you have concrete evidence to support your view. We all know how you like posters to post facts ( and the dismiss them as fake news if don’t support your views)

We though aren't "other bloc countries" are we! We have played a leading role in fighting the virus and have developed one of the most important vaccines.

We have never been one of the minor players. Our voice mattered and we also were often outliers in the way we approached things, so your assumptions are just that. Assumptions. With The NHS behind them our government may well have dealt with this differently to other countries. This assumption that the EU could force us to toe a line is simply untrue. They could have expected, and even demanded, a unified approach but there is no guarantee we would have obliged, if our government had decided otherwise. This is what the Brexiteers failed to comprehend. We always remained an independent nation state who were able to put our own interests first if circumstances demanded we did so. That the EU Commission decided to adopt a common strategy does not mean we would have agreed to join it.

It's all assumptions isn't it! That's the point.

But there is evidence to support your assumptions, allegedly. Funny that

Keir is to busy grabbing the headlines doing his best for Britain by selecting wallpapers and drinking beer in working men's clubs, rather than putting forward alternative policies.

If we were such a major player in the eu why did Cameron get the finger?

That was regarding the economic impact of Brexit. Not whether the UK would have been forced to follow the EU's path on vaccine procurement. There is evidence in plain view for the first. The second can only be speculation.

It wasn't "the finger"!

They both made a very bad miscalculation and ended up with a result that neither wanted.

Because Cameron told them that he would win. The EU believed the pollsters and all the experts.

The Government, the opposition, the Trade Unions, the CBI, the big banks, the pop stars, the footballers, in short anybody who liked to believe they understood the UK were on the Remain side.

Simply put, why should they give Cameron anything? No point. And even if the referendum did not go their way, then they would just ensure it happened again and again until the right result was obtained.

Hence why the EU are still in complete denial about what happened. There was a great quote in amongst all the news about talks with Norway falling apart. Apparently its down to the British being to hung up on principles. Seriously. This has been quoted from an EU official.

“What makes the U.K. often stick to its guns is a matter of principle, it’s political. What we feel is that we prefer to have an agreement, because otherwise it would set a very bad precedent for the very sensitive negotiations on fishing opportunities that we face.”

Yet again, they are both speculation.

How the country fares in the future, this has not yet been written.
