I would prefer a manager who can get us firing home and away after all of these years in the premier league. Actually just winning at home would be a start, there are no extra points to be had by winning away...

Don’t care whether the points come home or away as long as they come. Roy got a tune out of us at home last season because he had a better squad than the one he has now with more decent attacking midfield options. As for the next level, give it up there isn’t one. Sound like Charlton.

I would prefer a manager who can get us firing home and away after all of these years in the premier league. Well so would I. I'm as fed up as anyone with our home record. But Hodgson has been manager for ( almost ) 2 seasons out of 6. So it's hardly a new scenario. Yep, love to have a manager that can get the home form to match the away form. If Hodgson had achieved that then on the assumption that we would have amassed the same points at home as we have away, then we would currently be 9th. That's ahead of West Ham and Everton, both who have spent fortunes in recent transfer windows. We would also be potentially competing for that poison chalice of a Europa League spot. I don't agree with all of Hodgson's team selections, tactics or use of subs. Nor did I with those of a number of his predecessors. But I do think he's a good fit for the club at this moment in time. So for a number of you, Hodgson has to go. Fair enough. Yet to hear of a sensible suggestion as to who should come in though.

Sorry I work a full time job and have no networking connections in football so I am not aware of the next nuno espírito santo or ralph hasenhuttl. Had you heard of either before they took over at their respective clubs? How utterly dense to say that only someone with a particular manager in mind is allowed to question RH. There are probably over 50 managers across the top leagues in world football that might actually start a creative midfielder in a home derby. Typical blinkered nonsense from a Wayne hennessey fan - by the way where was he on Saturday?

Wow you have some pretty low expectations. So being happy with the second worst home record in the league (worse than Fulham, worse than Cardiff, worse than Burnley etc etc) and not scoring a single goal from open play during the first 7 home games, and only scoring 7 goals from open play in 15 home games is alright in your book? I don’t call it being entitled to expect a better home record and not rolling over and having our tummy’s tickled by the likes of Watford and Brighton.

Injured you clown On MOTD you can see Guita scrambling furiously across his goal before Murray shoots and tnen he didn't get anywhere near it. No goalie would have stopped the second Brighton goal but if Hennessy had been playing you would have been on here blaming him for our loss.

I guess this situation reminds me of my working days when some staff ( senior people at a managerial level ) would bring me problems without solutions. Saying that things aren't good enough is all very well but how about offering some creative alternatives ? It's a results business. I would agree that this season has been a big disappointment, but I don't lay the blame solely on Hodgson, although it's usually the manager that pays the price. I don't think we will get relegated. At the end of the season Steve Parish may need to consider whether the club continues to be run in it's current fashion or if fundamental change is required. Given what happened with FDB, I wouldn't expect a huge appetite for a seachange. This will not be helped by the recent news that the club is up for sale.

No one in the press asked a single question about why Hennessey was not starting or even not on the bench. Probably tells the story as the overwhelming emotion was relief. Anyway, enough of shooting fish in a barrel. Once again PZ you like to cut and paste bits of a post that you want to reply to, and totally ignore the bulk of the rest of it. You said it was daft to say that there could be any number of managers that no one here has ever heard of that could come in and do a job of work. I asked you if you had ever heard of the manager's of Wolves or Soton before they were hired, but you conveniently forgot to answer those questions. Its not daft to suggest that there could as many as 50 possible candidates in the top leagues of world football (Santo came from Portugal last whereas Hassenhuttl came from Germany). However once again, any fan of this club is allowed to question the manager without having a ready made name of a replacement who might come from somewhere like Portugal or Germany. Can you name a single manager in the Primeira Liga of Portugal without googling it? I doubt it.

If push came to shove I wouldn't mind Rafa - he's got experience and is currently working under spending constraints, he'll fit in well here
