I rest my case M'lud.

What's your view on recommendations to be acted on immediately regarding tower blocks sitting on various ministers desks for years.

What do you think of the loss of paper trail on who supplied what, when, what for and costs because of outsourcing?

What do you make of the lack of support for survivors in the aftermath of the event? (something which the government have admitted to?

So how exactly do you find homes for that amount of people in a week.
They have received some financial help already, and they are doing more.
And what may said was about the first couple of days the support was not up to scratch, but it is now being dealt with.
You have to realise these people have nothing left,no ID or anything.I really feel for them, but you can't just click your fingers and it's sorted.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

The question was to sniper Jim.

If your flight is delayed, they manage to sort out a hotel for you pdq.

Plenty of empty housing around that can be used temporarily.

Really only been given a hotel once, but that's not really a comparison is it,just flippant from you.
And you can't just put people in other people's property....

NOT in all cases but even if airlines do so, the hotel is only used for a day or so.Totally different situation.

And don't get me on the topic of the hard-left's bid to exploit the tragedy for tawdry political advantage. !!!!! Went on and on about this last night in a lovely pub garden and my wife had enough of it !

Corbyn goes on with cries of "Compulsory purchase", "Requisition", "Occupy" etc etc. This is mere populist rabble-rousing.

That's it - I'm going to get off my "Soapbox" now lest I bring on hypertension !
I will stick to the football debates.

Who is making sure any hotels offering accommodation aren't ripping_off the council (and hence the tax payer)? Also, what's the big problem with temporarily living in other parts of London? Everyone was saying how glad/lucky they were to be alive and now they're moaning about which postcode they are being offered free accommodation to live in. It seems we are now in the money grabbing phase which always happens when 'funds' are allocated by the government to those 'affected'.

Being honest, the Tories are managing to give labour political advantage anyway.

Is the Norwegian government hard left, Corbyn would be seen as a moderate there.

Yes the hotel idea is a quick fix, sometimes you need these in an emergency. Plenty of hotels in Kensington and Chelsea...

Although for once I agree with some of what you have said, you have to think of the families with children who have children at school in the area.
So therefore they more or less have to stay in the surrounding postcodes.
But it will be interesting how this progresses.

If you've just survived a life threatening event, a few weeks away for your children from your school of choice should be the last thing on your mind. Smells of many trying to take advantage of generosity and trying to 'live' a life they weren't living before off the backs of others. It doesn't really surprise me at all as it's endemic in the local culture.

I listened to one gut moaning that £5000 was no where near enough money that he's received. Er, it's only been a week since the fire occured.

Wondered how long it would be before people started turning on the victims.
