We should've been interested to take Silva to interview stage. I'm hoping Silva said he wanted to speak to Watford and us before making his mind up. Rumour is he wanted until Sunday to decide. If Silva is interested in Watford he would be in us. No reason not to be. But we may not be interested in him? I just think we should let things pan out. If we "lose" Silva I don't think it will be because Parish was dealing with Wilf. If anything I would imagine most managers would love to work with him and it would be a positive rather than a negative

We haven't interviewed anyone, maybe parish was too busy tieing Zaha down to a new deal. I really don't get the fascination with silva and the disappointment with dyche. If anything dyche had a better season. His home form was in the 6th best in the prem. like silva his away far from great. Is silva gonna attract big names I'm. not so sure. Dyche likewise. Perhaps SP got the Wilf deal done quickly to use as a bargaining tool to entice the new boss knowing he will have him in his squad

Not being interested in him and letting things pan out is a little too relaxed for such an important hiring as other clubs take their pick.

Yes I find it hard to believe we're not interested and reading Silva wanted until Sunday to make his mind up before we read he's seeing Watford on Friday night does lead me to believe we're both in the frame. If we (Parish actually) want him we have to and must be prepared to pay for him. Missing out on the manager you want to save money isn't a wise business decision, within reason of course, but I doubt in this case it'll be unreasonable levels.

Do you actually believe, because he bought 3 players he already knew (of), that there's some globe stretching scouting system that goes beyond Silva and his agent's contacts? Dear oh dear. If we've let Silva slip without even an interview then instead of the usual dithering it'll be because we've been massaging Zaha into a contract extension and put the manager on hold whilst a bottom half rival operates unchanllenged. Not good. Edited by Rudi Hedman (27 May 2017 9.13am) Good post. Although, I fee like we're just a bit late to the Silva part. Already in advanced talks with Watford, before we've even met him. Playing catch-up has probably made it a lot harder for Parish.

Whatever the result, I trust Parish to negotiate for the best of CPFC.

Crazy for people to turn on Parish so quickly and blame him for tieing Wilf down as a reason why we might not sign someone. Always so quick to blame people. Sounds to me as if we've been talking to managers and signing Wilf up. Which are both mutually benifical. Why are our fans so quick to find anything possible to throw at Parish.

Indeed, if there are no signs of Watford wrapping things up today, then that gives Silva (and Palace) more rime to meet and discuss teems for Palace. Its a shame to lose Allardyce but Palace are in good shape to make a good appointment. If it turns out not to be Silva, thats a shame but better not to rush in to a bad appointment. Palace are well placed to consolidate their poaitition in the PL and we need a manager and a back up team to achieve this
