If SP is being inundated with calls, why has he upped his offer and still negotiating? Why doesn't he just say "This is it, take it or leave it." Or if your theory is 100% correct, just bin the Benteke deal completely and sign the next best thing?

In rely to my last post above, because we are clearly no longer a second best club. The team we are building of internationals could be challenging for champions league if we get it right. Push on and buy Benteke. We are building a phenomenol squad. Our part owner Americans are worth billions. We have arrived. We've got a great chairman with amazing football knowledge. Good advisors. It's all kicking off. Stadium next. Like Tomkins said we are a massive club. He has seen it. We are going big time. Nothing to hold us back. This is what I've waited 50 years for and it's finally happening. And if it all screws up, well I'll still be Palace!! What a trip. Bring it on SP.

people need to understand this is like no other season

not with the tv money pumped in. 30 million this season is like 20 million last season.

personally, i think the sel hurst redevelopment stadium plans have stalled majorly and instead of doing nothing, the yanks have given a small tidy sum on top of what we already have for transfers

'This is the crux of the issue when teams spend big. They spend for the sake of spending, and Palace may well be falling into the trap. After an astute addition of Steve Mandanda, Pardew then focused his attention on Andros Townsend, who was signed last week, and Cristian Benteke, two decent, but far from world class, players.

However, in pursuing Benteke in particular, Palace have bid way over the odds. Upping the bid to £31.5 million is insanity for a player who is good, but nothing more. This idiot clearly doesn't know:

a) the problems we had after December and

b) how ridiculous Arsenal look each season. Fail to add a player or 2 and fail to win the league. The worst was the Suarez debacle. Sign him and they would go some to never win the title with him in their team.

Clearly an Arsene rimmer. He's been torn apart by 3 posts at the bottom, it's only been online for 2 hours and those 3 posts have just been posted.

Each team's predicament will be slightly different.

Kinda makes me hope this is the season we finally work out how to turn Arsenal over.
