"The Conservatives are set to be the largest party in the Commons but just short of a majority, according to the general election exit poll.
The survey taken at polling stations across the UK suggests the Tories will get 316 MPs to Labour's 239 when all the results have been counted.
It suggests the Lib Dems will get 10 MPs, the SNP 58, Plaid Cymru 4, UKIP 2 and the Greens two".

It's the reward for competence. Probably difficult for you and your leftie chums in LaLa land to understand.

I knew it.

Polls got it wrong. People turned off by Millibland

David Milliband would have walked it.

Maybe, but he wouldn't necessarily have looked so great after three years of popular press targeting...Imagine how many votes David C would have got if targeted the same way day in day out...

still can't see UKIP getting more than 12% overall and more than two seats. Not absolutely terrible but certainly a million miles from what they were hoping for not so long ago.

Their peak will be tonight and then whoosh down that hill they will go.

Still torn on my vote. Do I think of the country as a whole and go with the Tories who in my opinion have done a pretty decent job in trying to clear up the mess Labour left?

Or do I vote for purely selfish reasons and go with someone else seeing as the Tories have totally ripped the heart out of the British Police Service and have now ripped up my contract meaning I have to work an extra 9 years on top, pay more into my pension, get less out, lose about 60k of my lump sum and wait an extra 9 years for my pension???

Tough one.

7 years ago everyone was blaming the money men, aggressive capitalism and bankers for "the mess" which was pretty much worldwide. Not sure how Labour can be held accountable for what initially started in the US.

We can blame Reaganomics and Thatcherism though. Deregulation.

Translation: we shouldn't be stupid and populist and blame something which is actually very complex but we pretend is simple.

Let's be stupid and populist and blame something which is actually very complex but we pretend is simple.

I need a translation of your translation

Blaming bankers for 'the mess' - populist and simplistic.

Blaming Reaganomics and Thatcherism - populist and simplistic.

Blaming the main political proponents of big time financial-sector deregulation:populist and simplistic, perhaps;but not wrong!

Your tabs are working well tonight!

As Healey once put it about Geoffrey Howe,"like being savaged by a dead sheep"

The reward for incompetence. Maximum joy if this happens. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
