I joked a while ago that the easiest way to eliminate the backlog of asylum claims was to rubber stamp them. Oh well careful what you wish for. Apparently anyone from these countries it's a slam dunk Afghanistan, Eritrea, Libya, Syria and Yemen. In other unrelated news the number of asylum claims from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Libya, Syria and Yemen has suddenly rocketed the government is at a loss to explain why. Maybe they aren’t necessarily from those countries

It's not Europe, it's the EU. They are not the same thing. We are part of Europe, however we don't want to be part of the EU......The corrupt neo liberal woke political wealth class of failing upward politicians. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Feb 2023 6.18pm)

I wonder what Max Hastings thinks about our present defense capability, I imagine he is as apoplectic as the senior defense people in the media this week. We needed an efficient modern fighting force to defend and prosecute if need be, instead we got grandstanding and toys for tory Eton boys. We are not threatened by anyone in the Asia-Pacific, a typical tory delusion. Now apparently we could only hold out in a conventional war, far more likely, for 5 days. Tories themselves must be wondering if they can do anything right. Er, no.

For grandstanding - see Max Hastings and his pontificating. He knows nothing about it. It's not the Blitz and the UK has adequate air defences and capability. At the outbreak of the first and second world war, Britain's army was inadequate. It has always been that way.

You are obsessed with " Eton " for some reason. I know you have a class war mentality but it's still an odd phrase to use. You are Fred Kite and I claim my £5.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Meanwhile, Labour already undermining Brexit by voting for the new Irish border agreement and they aren't even in power yet. A vote for Labour is anti Brexit, make no mistake. Starmer is oner of the most disingenuous politicians imaginable, and that is an achievement. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (02 Mar 2023 1.21pm)

So often quoted to mean the wrong thing. "wherefore art thou Romeo?" means "Why are you Romeo?"
