Why this obsession with the "looney left" and the assertion that all those who oppose Trump fit that category?

It's simply untrue.

I oppose the stupidity of hard-left politics every bit as avidly as I do those of the hard-right. You just don't see it here as there aren't any posters from the hard-left.

That the hard-left got pictured protesting Trump doesn't mean the bulk of the people agree with them any more than they agree with the hard-right.

I would draw your attention to Maines post yesterday at 954pm. It appears to be ok to steroetype trump supporters but not trump haters.

it is OK - replace Donald Trump with say Piers Morgan, Noel Edmonds or Vanessa Feltz and you might get the logic, a*seholes like a*rsheholes, the broad spectrum of humanity who don't like arseholes cannot so easily fall under the umbrella term of a*rsehole

You definitely seem fixated upon that particular body part.

Do you have something against your own arse?

What's the beef with Noel Edmonds and Vanessa Feltz?

I'm completely out of the loop with these two....what happened? Did Edmonds misgender Blobby or has Feltz shagged her exercise instructor to death?

In my experience, there are a large number of Trump supporters who are indeed stereotypical. There are, of course, exceptions, as can be seen in this thread, but they are pretty rare.

Those who oppose him are hugely diverse in almost every other way. I don't hate him as I try hard not to hate anyone. I pity him as I think he has to be a sick man. What I hate is the possibility that such an unfit character can ascend to that office

He did, so possibility became reality and will do for 4 more years. Tbh he could find a cure for covid and cancer, create a poverty and racist free world, eliminate terrorism totally and get palace to win the league and European cup and england the euros and world cup. You would still find a way to dislike him.

If you really are so certain then go and stick the house on it. I think it's obviously possible in the current divided USA but no more likely than not. My own view is that the opposition know it's so important to get shot of him that if Biden looks incapable of doing it then he will suddenly be found to have an illness and another, charismatic character, parachuted in. Who is selected as the VP now becomes really important?

One of the most important things to avoid is Trump's ability to pack the Supreme Court with politically conservative Judges. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a feisty individual who is doing her best in the national interests to hang on in there but whether she could last another 4 years is questionable. I actually think that's one of the major reasons those on the right tolerate Trump. So he can pack the Court and ensure it takes a conservative stance for many years ahead.

If he did any of those things you mention then he would deserve the credit from everyone, including me. That he won't though is such a racing certainty that a bookie will give you 1000:1 against minimum.

The man is a disaster as President. Everyone ought to be able to see that. It has nothing at all to do with any personal dislike. It's only to do with his capability and leadership.

Your last line is not actually how your posts portray your feelings and reasoning.
