SIR Keir has a nice ring to it! He doesn’t like it though. You can call Jimenez Sir if you like. If he hasn’t been knighted it will be coming soon the way they hand them out.

Oh. How much did he pay to go to school? I too passed my 11+ and went to a Direct Grant school. I always understood DG and VA schools weren’t allowed to charge fees for pupils, I expect you know better Not sure how it worked in Reigate but the 11+ ended in the Midlands in 1976 and full (non fee paying) scholarships were then granted to only the brightest pupils (1 or 2 in 30) and there was something called the Governors Exam. If you passed that you were entitled to go to Grammar School however on a subsidised fee paying basis. I passed the Governors exam but my parents couldn't afford to send me to the Grammar School that my brother attended on a free 11+ basis so I went to a Comprehensive School.

Starmer is just another 'Leftie' who wants common ownership of rail, water etc, to tax the rich and to raise Corporation Tax. I recall some while back getting into a frog-eyed frenzy about the Labour Party and someone responding by asserting that I was a right-wing, bigoted ERG Tory.I don't think he is alone in forming such a conclusion! To be honest I have NO desire to spend any time debating about Starmer and his dastardly Labour Party so this is my last post on this thread. In actual fact I will not take the trouble to peruse it. When Corbyn resigned, practically every Labour MP, when asked, said that the next leader must be a woman. They are all very quite about that now.

Starmer looks like a leader, and that’s more than JC ever did.
