Of course there will be "malign influences". But that should encourage free speech even more,so debate can be heard.

As far as I can see the msm press will be allowed to spew the government narrative unedited and unobstructed even more,if we don't have free speech. Which seems to be getting less

Agreed I can think of one broadcaster who just takes the word of a senior banker and doesn't bother to follow up to see if that person is telling the truth or spinning to protect their organization.

You have no more idea than anyone else whether that story went through the required verification processes. If it didn't then the journalist involved will be in serious trouble.

Any journalist breaching the BBC standards risks their job.

If the story had been verified they would have realised that the "source" was not being truthful. Poor journalism.

I genuinely thought I saw Huw Edwards on the BBC last night - going on about something about MacDonalds - somebody tell me I didn't please.

It's early on but it's not looking good for Zuckerberg's 'Threads': its censorship platform competitor to Musk's Twitter.

It's daily user engagement is 13 million which is down 70 percent from its July 7th peak with an average use of 4 minutes. To compare Twitter's engagement is around 200 million with an average use of 30 minutes.
