TBF not sure the BBC would have been aware, however he should have been sacked for the previous “misdemeanour “ I worked with him on a number of occasions and he was the last person I would have suspected of this kind of thing. When the internet was rife with the 'BBC presenter guessing game' at the time, he wouldn't have even factored as an option for me.

I've just gone on the BBC News home page and it's the headline story other than the horrific Southport story. Get a grip. It is there now but wasn't when I posted and do not be so condescending please.

I wonder why a BBC article wouldn't offer a strong opinion on a political decision... hmmmmmmm. Your desperation to find examples to support your view that the BBC and Labour are the worst thing in existence is very transparent, and I'm again going to highlight that you spend an inordinate amount of time on a website which you claim to despise. I don't like the Daily Mail - I don't spend any of my free time trawling their website to find more reasons to re-enforce that view.

The BBC has been a politically driven nepotistic horn of plenty for years for those with access to the inner circle. They cover up scandal until they are forced to go public. Total feckin disgrace
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Why are there so any scandals at the BBC? I mean serious ones not celeb hissy fits. For an organisation of 20,000 people they have an awful lot of serious scandals, rape, sexual offences, bullying etc. So why is that? I have been thinking about this and can only conclude that it's their culture and I don't mean that the BBC knowingly hires perverts. There is a common thread to all of these scandals, the people involved believe they are untouchable and that is the fault of the BBC management. We are now hearing about Edwards inappropriate behaviour to other staff members probably he thought this was acceptable as he was the face of BBC news. Saville, Harris, Hall etc. all of these people wielded too much power so employees were scared of them. When you have that much power it is a short step from bullying to be a predator. I make no allegations against Gary Lineker but he is another example of an employee who has far too much power at the BBC and they seem unable or unwilling to reign him in. There are hundreds of people at the BBC who are paid outside of the BBC salary scale because they have convinced management that they are a special case. Once management has accepted this then they demand special treatment. For it's own good the BBC needs to address this. I would have reminded these people they only exist because of the BBC and if they want to ply their trade elsewhere they are welcome to. Any actor can read an autocue. So until the beeb crackdown on these people who think they are bigger than the corporation these scandals will continue. Edited by Badger11 (02 Aug 2024 7.11am)
