People are starting to ask questions about Ukrainian refugees in Ireland. Plenty of them are men of military age. It's a sure sign of war and refugee fatigue. I don't see even our virtuous government wanting any Palestinians. I think they know people have had enough. Edited by ASCPFC (06 Nov 2023 10.34am)

Anyone who asked these questions were labeled far right racists the last few months.

Yes they do have the right. The war could have been avoided however. Countless lives could have been saved. Russia gave every opportunity for peace talks. But now all of sudden peace talks are on the table.... I think you'll find that the Ukranians think trusting Putin's word on any peace treaty would be sheer folly. And they'd be right. Putin started the damn war yet the feeling I get on this board is that most want him to win it.

Don't worry, the US tranny who was putting out Ukrainian war news for a year for them told us all that Ukraine was going to win, with or without our support. So that's alright then.

Oh if it's in the Washington post it has to be true and correct.

As for the Washington Post....it's not about whether it's true or not, it's an insight to how the Washington elites are thinking. Just how closely have you been following the war? I mean from my perspective it's been obvious for a very long time but there you go. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Nov 2023 6.20am)

It’s been obvious from the start that some kind of compromise would be required and that removing the Russians was mere rhetoric. Unless NATO got directly involved, which was never going to happen, that was impossible. It’s been equally obvious that resisting the Russians was an imperative unless it was accepted that the whole of Ukraine was taken by them, with little damage inflicted on them. Never forget that in the initial phase it looked as though they were going to go straight into Kyiv, without much opposition. Would they have stopped? Paused, probably but stopped unlikely. As soon as the next excuse came along they would be pushing again. So a line was drawn, as it had to be.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

People reading this guy's post here should compare it to what he wrote in the actual thread. All the points he makes were answered multiple times but it makes no difference to him. Many such cases. Excuses for hundreds of thousands of mostly men in the ground for a worst deal than would have happened has zero justification. As usual excuses for his favoured failures. What has happened was always the most likely outcome. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Nov 2023 11.33am)

In other Ukraine related news, a great learning opportunity here for us all, especially with Xmas coming up: Do not give people working grenades as presents and if you receive one, do not let children play with them: [Link] Who knew?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
