f***ing Bayern. Trying to nick our manager, Wharton and now they've actually taken Olise. It was bad enough when West Ham were signing everyone we were linked with, now we have this.

But at least Bayern are a better class of poacher than the Spammers.

Shows we're on the up.

At the end of the day this guy is a professional sportsman and fully understands football’s loyalty having been kicked out of the Chelsea and was it Arsenal’s academy.
He has engineered the ability to move and if the press are to be believed is making a move which gives him the ability to perform at the highest level in Germany for an iconic club and play Champions League football this year whilst getting a huge salary increase and a slice of the transfer fee.
Well good luck to him, I have loved watching him play…just disappointed his last year was ruined by injuries. At least he won’t be playing against us in the Premier League.
As disappointing as this is, at least it will offer encouragement for other developing players to join us.

My concern is the price. The contract that he signed with the release clause seems to be no better than the £35 million in the original contract. The sale seems to be for £50 million, including add-ons...so basically £35million plus add-ons. Hopefully Palace will learn from this 'clause' malarky.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

I dont believe Parish would have set a release clause so low at a time when lesser talents were going for £100m+ and Olise's value was only going to keep going up. Lets be honest in todays market £50m INCLUDING add ons for a talent of Olise's quality is pretty poor money.
I wont believe Parish agreed to that until I actually see proof of it.

Doesn't the player have to approve the amount? It's possible Olise, or whoever advised him, thought a £100m price was effectively tying him to us with the effects of FFP being felt.

Dont forget, Parish was not in a negotiating position. At the time Olise would have gone for £35m. God knows how Parish persuaded Olise to stay last season. He did exceptionally well.
Anyway, from what I hear, the Bayern deal is a total of EU 70 M.
Also, not so sure about Reading on any significant percentage.

I think I have read somewhere that Reading are entitled to 10%.....if it is 70mil EU, that is great and as already said by some, at leat we will not have to see hime play against us and score, unlike CG keeps doing for Chelsea!. Lets wish him the best of luck and hope that any money we make is spent wisely sooner rather than later so that we have a full squad for pre-season.
