Strange choice from the club if true, needs gametime in the English game and a Championship side would make much more sense. If he scores 10 at Gent (which I don't think he will)we still don't know a thing. Only an hour away for me so may go and have a look if he gets in the team. Maybe there is an option to buy at the end of the loan deal which if so think the club will activate it ?

Strongly suspect Gent will not pay him all his wages which is kind of what you suggest. And if the club does not want to write him off, then why loan him to a low level league with nowhere near the same physicality or intensity as the PL. Originally posted by YT

"The move reunites the forward with Jess Thorup, who he worked with at FC Midtjylland last season, scoring 14 goals in 25 games. But one goal in 20 games since joining Palace last January has seen him slip down the pecking order at Selhurst Park. Does anyone know if Jess Thorup is any relation to Borge Thorup who some old - timers may remember played for Palace all those years ago?

I don’t know what the standard of the league is in Belgium but if it’s similar to our League 1 then he’ll probably do ok.

Whoever was responsible for his signing and basically pissing £9m up the wall should be given a written final warning!

Agree with this, seems a bit of a fruitless exercise.
