There can be no debate that Roy has not got a long term future as manger regardless of his achievements. I hope that succession planning has been ongoing for some time. Maybe Roy will leave with a genuine pat on the back and a big thank you at the end of this season. He would certainly go with my blessings and appreciation of his getting us out of a big hole last season. I just can't see Roy as the man to move us to the next level. We have stopped progressing and should have moved on from yearly relegation fights by now. Like everyone, I am fed up walking away from Selhurst after yet another disappointing home result. I will keep going of course but do understand others that may not. I would like to see a new manger in for next season. Who I don't know but surely the club has been working at this in the background? Maybe Roy could stay for a season as a technical adviser/mentor. I mean no disrespect to Roy but there is a new breed of younger managers that seem more adaptable and flexible. This is surely where our future lies.

There was 2 good examples of managers changing the game yesterday. Rafa changed to 4 at the back in thd second half and went more direct.... Soton manager made 2 subs at half time and pushed mors players forward. Both were game changing decisions whicb resulted in wins. Roy needs to be more flexible and take risks, especially at home.

Although I like Roy , My prediction is that Come end of season Steve won’t sack Roy , but they will come to an amicable agreement that Roy will announce his retirement. Nobody loses face so everyone happy . Just my thoughts

Don’t understand why we can not do better than lousy Watford in scouting/signing a modern manager with vision. Yesterday’s loss purely on the manager. And that was one of many times this season. Time to thank RH and move on to the next phase with is club. Our overall result does not tally With the quality players we have,

Roy has a job for as long as he wants all the time we're relatively safe from relegation and have a lack of finances.

The usual complaints about Roy after a defeat, where we dominated the game and got done by a punt upfield in a swirling wind and somewhat unfortunate wonder goal from outside the box.

Not convinced Roy knows how to play attacking football on the front foot. Given we've spent relatively a lot of money on our team to find ourselves struggling to win home games and to score goals isn't really good enough. I am convinced he doesn’t. I believe it is 7 goals from open play in 15 games plus pens. It took us 7 games to even score a goal from open play. You don’t score an embrassingly low total of 7 goals from open play in 15 home games unless you have a problem. Edited by Maine Eagle (10 Mar 2019 4.21pm)

Why do some people feel Roy is immune from criticism?

Roy’s job and even if Brighton’s set up took him by surprise (God knows why), then he should have made changes at half time, one of those being Meyer. While we are at it leaving Kouyate out was brainless; it was a derby and his toughness was needed. As an aside i thought the atmosphere today was subdued. I have it on good authority he had a slight back injury. Cannot understand not giving Meyer a start, he must be p***ed off only getting 15 minutes when we are losing

What an ambition ..... just staying up. After last season we should have kicked on but didn’t. Where we are at present is unacceptable and I really wish we all stopped looking down but instead up to at least 10th which, with this team we are more than capable of achieving. Too much acceptance of mediocrity and this is centred on our home form which, if taken in isolation would see us relegated. We won’t go down IMO but this is nothing to be proud of!

I despair of some so-called “fans”. Is Palace Talk returning to the dark days of sheer stupidity? Looks like it is.

Looks like it is. 3 wins at home. 7 straight games without a goal. 7 goals from open play in 15 games. Great performances away, utter dross at home = same players. I would prefer a manager who can get us firing home and away after all of these years in the premier league.
