The legitimacy of anything on a blog I think is questionable. What does count however I would argue is the meaning, themes and the sentiment. A work of fiction can in itself be very informative and expansive in understanding and transportation of the self into 'another's experience'.

The Handmaids Tale isn't a true story, but its a powerful analogy for a woman's perspective of the power imbalance in society and male dominance of the political decision making process - in exactly the same way that 1984 is of totalitarianism.
