Reality is they lose the ability to sign 1 quality player, or possibly 2 who are not the cream of the crop. But if they don't sell Benteke it's £3mil+ wages every 6 months. Wrong. Parish has stated publicly after our promotion how he was offered big named players. Even last close season we were offered Pato for a few million. Soon as Agents from around the world knew we had prem money, things changed. And this season the money has quadrupled - do you not think we're getting as many, if not more of these types of offers/calls?

Yeah, I agree with that. Liverpool are paying him way north of 100 a week so if they're not planning to play him they need to sell. If this were 2 days before the end of the window (and I'm not suggesting we wait) Liverpool would bite your hand off for the 25m.

In my opinion, anything over £15 million for Benteke is too much. The amount that we are offering is crazy after the season he has just had. We could get better strikers for less money

You REALLY think that's not happening? You're arguing with the person you agree with. I think I'll sick with the just guessing theory. If SP is being inundated with calls, why has he upped his offer and still negotiating? Why doesn't he just say "This is it, take it or leave it." Or if your theory is 100% correct, just bin the Benteke deal completely and sign the next best thing or 3 or 2 or 3 world class players for a fraction of the Benteke deal?
