Name me a nearby stadium with more than 26,000 capacity minus 6,000 in the main stand? And then one where all us lazy feckers are going to fill it every week. Maybe alternatives have been considered and rejected for a plethora of reasons or maybe a temporary move has never been on the agenda at all.

So no answer to your claim we'll have to move for a season. With respect, I haven't been involved in any detailed discussions regarding the feasibility of remaining at 'Selhurst Park' whilst the work is carried out or moving temporarily so I certainly don't have an 'Expert' view on this matter. All I was saying that from the outside it does seem difficult to see how, given that we need a significant upgrade, this can be achieved within a reasonable timescale and without significant disruption. As I say I'm not an expert on these matters and maybe my thinking is extremely warped on this subject ! Edited by Willo (13 Mar 2017 1.41pm)

Liverpool needed to upgrade a single stand with an extra tier.We need to upgrade the whole darned stadium. With a stand-by-stand approach whilst still playing there this could take darned ages, not forgetting all the inconvenience of having a stand out of action.Just doesn't seem that practical from the outside but I haven't seen any detailed plans nor been party to any discussions.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave I think the decision will hinge on this season, as I can't see us maintaining sell-outs if we drop to the Championship, unfortunately.

I think the decision will hinge on this season, as I can't see us maintaining sell-outs if we drop to the Championship, unfortunately. Redevelopment needs to take place whatever league we are in. The size of parachute payments now means that there is no excuse for it to be delayed any further. In fact you could argue given the probable drop in player salaries, it will free up a little more money. In my opinion, which league we are in should only have an impact on quite how far any redevelopment goes.

Yeah, I don't go for this "it won't happen if we go down" argument. We need to speculate to accumulate, no matter what division we find ourselves in next season and beyond.
