I suspect therefore you are in no position to judge this with any degree of objectivity. Just visit a few really leftish sites. You will boil over with the opinions offered but if you manage to find how they feel about the BBC then you will realise I am absolutely correct. I don't expect you to accept that. People from your political perspective don't.

A leader should have sympathy, not empathy because it leads to distorted judgement. Lots of research has been done on this. Trump has neither. He has a total absence of any kind of emotion that is not directed at himself.

Then the test is either flawed or you cheated! I am not talking about the "pushing of minority interests". That's a separate issue. I am talking about Trump and his administration who thoroughly deserve all the criticism being aimed at them, and much more. I see no underserved antagonism at all. In fact I think they are being allowed quite a lot of rope because of the positions they hold. The politicisation of the Justice Department and the way it is now becoming a personal weapon for Trump to use in his disinformation war on everything decent and honourable in US society is the latest evidence of the never-ending decline in the Presidency under Trump. To open up investigations into why the security services investigated the Russian interference in 2016, which are a matter of record everywhere in the 5 eyes, to denigrate those hard-working, non-political public servants who were doing their jobs and to invent new labels like "Obamagate" is way beyond the normal political cut and thrust. This is an attack on the very basis of democracy.
To do these things as the worst epidemic in 100 years is consuming the country and the biggest economic recession in living memory looms is beyond irresponsible. This cannot go on and it will have to be brought to an end somehow. Not all Republicans are spineless sycophants. Some have some balls and brains. Maybe they will wake up and act.

Clips of the president playing with kittens or helping grannies cross the road. Sigh. Why don't you Google the subject of leadership and empathy and try to add to the conversation instead of (as ever) scoring cheap points?

Meanwhile, the Democrats have been forced to bring out Obama to help get their flagging campaign back on track with Sleepy/Creepy Joe Biden. Watch the BBC et al cream their pants in excitement!

So you know more about my mind than I do? How typically narcissistic of you. You expect Trump to put his head in the traps set for him by his opponents?

Yeah, like you actually know him... from clips from mainstream media. Edited by Penge Eagle (17 May 2020 1.42pm) I follow him on Twitter and read every tweet. I watch his press conferences live if possible and not just clips. The same with his rallies. So although I have never met him face to face I have been watching Trump since well before he even publically announced he would run and he was really unknown here in the UK. That was because some of my US friends were touting him. So I don't just rely on selected clips from the MSM, be they favourable on Fox or negative on CNN. I am able to judge for myself. And it isn't good.

I said the test might be flawed or that you cheated. Why? Because everything you say here places you, in my own opinion, firmly on the right side of politics and neither the centre nor the left. That Trump does put his head into any traps set for him just shows how dumb he is! Although he actually doesn't require any traps to prove that. He manages it every day all on his own. The MSM have a duty to expose his failures and not cover them up. So don't be surprised when they do that.

I would think that was Obama's own decision, and he has been biding his time, but now feels the situation with Trump has become so dangerous that he can no longer stay silent. We will have to reserve judgement on Biden but as removing Trump is the imperative if it looks as though there is even the smallest chance he won't then he may well be asked to step aside and allow another to be parachuted in. Someone they know will capture the public's imagination and trust at a time of crisis. Or he could just turn out to be a stalking horse and there is already a plan in place ready to be announced at the most effective moment. We'll see. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (17 May 2020 2.57pm)
