Outside of the aforementioned in-breeding scenario that certainly occurs in some areas of this country, diversity and immigration is inevitable if the future trend is towards a globalised world with a mix of maturing and growing economies. Which despite bumps in the road has been the general direction of travel for quite some time now, thanks to the accessibility of technology and travel. Can't see that changing... every country wants growth and lots of it, despite the odd bout of sabre rattling here and there. Therefore diversity becomes necessary (and beneficial) when you have a minority population large enough to affect you economically. Businesses need to appeal to a growing section of the economy in terms of getting a slice of their disposable income and attracting talent. That's just one reasoning. There are loads more... As for how far you go with pandering to it eg. positive discrimination etc. is a fair debate. But that's more about how far than whether it's necessary. It becomes necessary when the minority population becomes economically valuable. Even immigration shy countries like Japan are starting to realise that if they want to sustain their economies at the level they've got used to they are going to have to start opening up their borders. Unless the direction of travel changes it's an inevitability that countries will begin to 'blend' even more... and nationality will evolve with it. Bothers some, doesn't bother me particularly. Do what you need to do to prosper. Maybe we could try and pivot to more of a closed shop model, but that might result in significant wage hikes and prices following suit. Significant long term inflation, like what is happening now but for decades. Which would probably leave most of you homeless and unable to afford a pint of milk. Also on the 'replacement' point isn't this a bit hyperbolic? In a globalised society all races will spread out and mix, that's just a reality until such time as where we decide that it's not the most economically prosperous route. However the point made above about minorities marrying within their groups is a good one this doesn't just apply to 'them', it applies to 'us' too. So I don't think 'our' genes are in any real danger long term. Besides, so what, really. Identity, nationalism and culture has always evolved and it's down to a lot more than just genetics. If you're a fan of attempting to maintain a pure genetic line that's up to you, but personally I'm not going to be segregating my children and deciding they can only marry 10th generation white English people to 'preserve our genetics'. How far back do you go? Where do you even start with that. It's nonsensical, and detrimental in an increasingly globalised world. Edited by SW19 CPFC (10 Mar 2023 5.59pm) Edited by SW19 CPFC (10 Mar 2023 6.00pm) Culture may evolve but is it naturally decided by the population or is it forced onto the population by those who are arriving. Multiculturalism cannot exist in its purest form as it will always involve one culture accepting something it doesnt want , or the arriving crowd being disappointed by not being able to adhere to what they want. So, FGM is expected by some to be part of society whilst currently this is not permitted under UK rules. Likewise, strict Hindus may wish to be cremated on an open fire, whilst UK law prohibits it. And God forbid if a really old fashioned believer still wishes his living wife to join him on the fire.
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

You can moderate how you see fit, though realistically there are several entirely loopy posts of this magnitute still left up, and that, combined with decent people being berated for pointing out the bleeding obvious, results in said ordinary people bogging off, and one or two who are far, far from ordinary feeling well at home and planting seeds that aren't about to flourish into anything of remote benefit to others. If you're happy to preside over and subject fans to that, fair enough.

Well, back to Stephen Didn't he do well: Describing her claims as "complete fiction", he said: "Unless and until (Eleanor Williams) chooses to say why she has told these lies we will not know." The judge added: "She's gone to extraordinary lengths to create false accusations including causing herself significant injury." The claims had created a "state of heightened tension" in Barrow for about four months, he said, with police describing the turbulence as being like nothing seen in the town for decades. Falsely-accused Jordan Trengove, spent 73 days in police custody Protests were held outside the police station and on a retail park. Videos of an appearance in the town by English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson were shown in court. Presumably because one of the accused was business owner Mohammed Ramzan, who Williams claimed groomed her from the age of 12 and put her to work in brothels in Amsterdam. He said he had received "countless death threats" on social media. This is exactly what our dear friend Wisbech warned of. To coin a phrase, Stephen decided to be Judge, Judy and Executioner (Hot Fuzz).

'Tommy Robinson, or whatever his name is, wrong to target grooming gangs because of one lunatic, who also fooled the police et al, therefore we should all pretend they do not exist'?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
