Yes, I think a lot of fans are thinking this, our priority has to be lining up replacements, Batshuayi plus cash seems the obvious, that's if he wants to come and they want him.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

The causality narrative is one any reporter will have to follow.

Reporter: Zaha sacked his agent
Editor: Why?
Reporter: dunno.
Editor: Well he was after a transfer in summer, so let's say that.
Reporter: ok.

In the publishing process:
Reporter juxtaposes departure with transfer request
Editor: Creates direct link between sacking and transfer attempt
No reporter will fight that tweak.

Assuming he did sack him, which he probably did/is trying to, he might have said why...or he might not

Just want him gone now. Only want players here who want to wear the shirt and he clearly doesn't. Sad end for a club legend

I am afraid I am in that frame of mind and I have always said NO ONE MAN is bigger than our club. He has gone from hero to zero in my book and the quicker SP sells him the better for our club. He has turned into a selfish little boy an comes out with all sorts of sh1t on line. Best he goes pretty fast!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

I wonder if the best move would be to try and secure his replacement in January with a view to selling Wilf in the summer. That way we have time to bed in the newbie and won't have the situation like with AWB where clubs hold us to ransom (although they might still try and do that). Without knowing the full story behind it all I'm not ready to start throwing insults at Wilf. If he is acting like a big time Charlie and has given up on the club then I would join the calls to get him out as quick as possible, but I actually thought he played fairly well against Villa, with signs he is returning to his old self. Leave the speculation to the gutter press.

great if he gets a new agent - then this very short conversation can take place

Agent: Welcome Wilf

Wilf: I want to play in the Champions League

Agent: No problem, all you need to do is to play like a player for a top four club - because, obvious I know, if you don't then why in the world would they want you?

That interpretation really is giving Wilf the benefit of the doubt to a considerable degree. Lot of people clutching at straws here instead of accepting the obvious conclusion that he wants out and was desperate for his agent to engineer a move.

oh he sure as s*** wants out.

my guess is he thinks the contract extension he signed was one of the stupidest things he ever did. and ultimately, he blames the agent.

But I'm guessing and so are most of the journos.

He might equally have decided Salthouse is somebody he doesn't like...who knows?

Absolutely. It's what I imagine Roy Hodgson would be saying, knowing that Zaha is off. "Be professional, put in top performances, earn your dream move".

Agent: you are already playing for a top four club

Agent: But not performing so you'll have to go to a lower club like Everton and take a pay cut.

Wilf: 'Crying' But I'm a champions league player

Ultimately each player makes the final decision about where they play. Truth is Wilf is not very good at it. Couple this with a clearly indecisive mentality and you end up at 27 realising your mistakes. You see AWB cracking on at Man U and that must be like rubbing salt in wounds.
It is hard for anyone who is not gifted to play pro ball what must be going on between his ears but it’s not sounding good.
What he should be doing is keeping his head down, focusing on his game and what will happen will happen. If he performs well, consistently, without emotion, the top boys will be at the gates for him. If not, they won’t. Simples.
Look at AWB. Kept his head down, played like a star, never moaned on or off the field and was gone at top dollar.
Look at Wilf. Inconsistent, long faced, petulant, touchy, arguing with the captain recently and always the ref, and now apparently saying everything is wrong.
When you look at his contract and his earnings it makes no sense. More than a lot of Champions league players get. So it’s not about money. It’s about decisions. Now he is rich, he is probably kicking himself he signed the contract. His decisions and indecisions are gnawing away at him. And worst of all, the truth is he has only got himself to blame.
He is at a crossroads. It’s a dilemma for him and he is not handling it well. Banging in a transfer request at the worst possible time. Now sacking his agent. Not looking good.
He needs to get on the pitch and show everyone just how good he really is. He needs to show he loves performing top level. Week in week out. Sadly that has never been Wilf.
I personally hope someone comes in for him at £50m in the next window and Parish let’s him go for all our sakes. But today I’m not sure either of those will happen. Sad.
