No, just a Remainer fantasy.

So no chance they will hold the balance of power then? I think it is you that is in fantasy land.

Let's hope they do a better job next time than they did when in bed with the Tories.

As for assimilation doing good in that department as well with probably around 20 (off the top of my head) nationalities living along my small street as it is.
Maybe something the denizens of what used to be a great borough Croydon used to be before It turned into a s***hole.
Wow the Bronx actually safer than some parts of London. Who'd of thought that when I first got here.
Anyway I'll leave you too you're HR!!

Do you think the idea of the Lib Dems being a credible party is a nightmare then Stirling?

I remember David Owen and I remember the original Liberals. I had time for aspects of both of them.

There is a certain morality within the Lib Dems that is an echo to old Quakerism that I have time for but it forms only a part of a wholly unrealistic egalitarian worldview that is contributing to the decline of western civilisation.

So in short, yes....the idea that the Lib Dems would be credible would be a nightmare.....in a sense.

There's an argument, in certain areas of the right, for accelerationism of course......so perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad thing in the long run.

Ah, a politician's answer.

So, whilst you are working in the US you can afford medical care. When you finish working will you come back to Britain like so many other Brit expats?

You are out of date, Croydon is rapidly becoming a cool place to live. Anywhere South of central Croydon always has been but now even West Croydon is starting to gentrify. And you should see the enormous apartment blocks going up in central Croydon, it's truly incredible.

The number of originating nationalities near you is neither here nor there. I asked if you were assimilating into the US culture as you don't seem to have learned either of the languages yet. You may as well go straight to Spanish now.

Erm Maple Languages? What is my username? I live in a neighborhood (see what I did there)where It's very Puerto Rican, Dominican, Etc so yes I speak some Spanish.
As for assimilation probably better than some of the Somalians living in Thornton Heath (remind me again what part of the EU is Somalia in)
You remind me of the vicar on the film Zulu, well meaning but totally clueless to what's going on around you or more than likely oblivious too it.

My user name is Mapletree, yet strangely I speak no Canadian.

You have again not answered my question. Will you be a returning expat, having not paid NICs for many years, that expects the British State to look after him in his old age because it's too expensive to keep up the medical insurance in the US? Like so many people I meet. The worst form of health tourist. And they don't even have to pay NICs when they get into older age, so they are at their most expensive age for the NHS and contribute waxba. Kind of the direct opposite of migrant workers that come to the UK.

He's not stupid....he's just a neo and social liberal.....His loyalties aren't towards the same things.

Maple thinks that gentrification is going to save him.....segregation by house price.

It's temporary and the left will find a way around it.

Maple old son, just so you can enjoy you're Roast Beef & Yorkshire Puddings this afternoon. I have no intention (Catastrophe permitting) of returning & living on that once sceptered Isle.
And shouldn't that be at the top of your post be 'I don't speak French'

He won’t resign and cares little for the middle ground. I wonder whether people will eventually get cold feet re the Lib Dems when it starts to look like they are a real option.

JC is very unpopular and so non committal on the Brexit fence that he has splinters coming out of his mouth.

It does create an interesting dynamic though, in that if there was an election soon, depending on the stated party view at the time it's not entirely beyond the realms of possibility that the Tories, Labours, Brexit party or indeed the Lib Dems could each manage to come out on top. It would be due to the spread of votes across parties rather than the overwhelming popularity of any of them though.

Current most seats odds are

Conservatives 11/10
Labour 6/4
Brexit Party 8-1
Lid Dems 18-1

This would all depend on the clarity of the message and any agreements between parties at the time. What gives the Lib Dems and Brexit party any outside chance at all is that they at least have a clear message and intention. It's all very up in the air and another coalition government isn't beyond the realms of possibility 'if' we see a generation election anytime soon.

France isn't well known for Maple Trees though is it.

I see you are spelling sceptred in the American fashion so perhaps you are getting there.

Not sure I want any truck with Yorkshire pudding though, foreign muck.
